  1. It is a nice island , often it appears to have it's own microclimate , more often than not wet and windy... nice to have settled spell again, I'll forget July and August if September replicates June .. off to a good start lol "my island" sounds like a quote from Braveheart
  2. lol ... well I never .. the Isle of Anglesey taking on a Marge Simpson hair style It's actually Sea Fog that is lapping the shores now, blotting out the otherwise sunshine blue sky day, Merc peaked at 24c ..
  3. Today is a good day .. next week a good week Are we walking on sunshine? Hell yes I am ! https://youtu.be/iPUmE-tne5U?si=jHiMko_VyD1YIdW9

  6. Yep fair point Don, although technically that would be "hunt for autumn sun and warmth" I don't think I'll have any takers for "hunt for Autumn Severe gales" per avatar
  7. ho hum .... the hunt for summer sun and warmth draws to a close What's the next weather chase ? Tornado Alley anyone?
  8. nooo got to keep that on for Crewe & the Coldies (that's actually a great band name ) You can have the log burner room for Beka & the Log Burners
  9. A song by the Beatles comes to mind ... finally!
  10. Don .. all are most welcome .. bring clothing though for all weather preferences
  11. I think we would have difficulty coming to an agreement on a suitable venue, given what an awesome diverse forum crew we have here
  12. lol CET does n't apply to my locale, for what its worth my equivalent of the 3 weather / climate stations used for modern CET measurements may as well be in Reykjavik, Oslo and Porto
  13. Shall we have the rainfall stats now ? just to demonstrate (with all facts on the table) what a shocker July and August were , or are we done now?
  14. & for completeness, if I may, here are the mean minimum temperature anomalies & lets add the mean max temperature anomalies too Now we can see all the stats on the table
  15. Subconsciously or not , most will judge weather on real world tangible facts , for example for me Summer School holidays 2022 - beach days with my kids - 20 Summer School holidays 2023 - beach days with my kids - 4 Everyone will have their own metrics of what is deemed good, bad or average
  16. Hopefully the sun and warmth will be with you soon Beka
  17. lol , the heavens have just opened here when you "like" a post does the "like" come with rain too ?
  18. Summer stats (2022 vs 2023) from my local Met / Climate Station (Valley), and comparison with the 1991-2020 Mean BBC Verdict on Summer 2023 https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/66679888 Given June was a most excellent Summer month, it does however present a "skewed" summer 2023 view
  19. I concur .. do check the Met forecast for comparison, Beeb: UKMet:
  20. Lightning detector going off like a Geiger Counter on a lump of plutonium for Bratislava
  21. Finally ! after several days of post Betty Sw'er cloud and rain , the clearance has arrived IMBY
  22. Lving everyone's blue sky, cloud , and dramatic skyscape pics and vids. thanks , helps to alleviate some of the pain of another gross Summer day here, knowing that folk are having a decent day somewhere in the UK & Eire , keep 'em coming
  23. lol my Buddleias bloomed quite early due to the dry and sunny June, as soon as July hit earlier blooms browned off the quickest I have ever seen. The late blooms have lasted two weeks before browning off , my Red Admirals are in utter confusion forced to go about their business in cool cloudy and often wet windy conditions .. July & August imby very poor .. it was ever thus
  24. not helping my August stats mate, August may well end up poorer than July Its gloomy outside , so much so I am having to put the lights on where I am working in the house - its 13:21hrs
