South East & East Anglia Regional Discussion 8th June 2013 onwards
Lauren replied to Snowangel-MK's topic in Regional
I wouldn't worry Tamara for the storm lovers here we are used to having all the charts pointing to a storm and then nothing happening. Probably the same story here. I was going to watch that, but we went out out.- 687 replies

I wouldn't say that counts Ian. From what I've read I think most people here class a storm as directly overhead or nearabouts with several flashes and bangs lasting more than 5 minutes.- 447 replies

At least it was warm for the BBQ but it started blowing a hooligan and we had to retire inside to eat.- 687 replies

I will guarantee the weather will be a disappointment today. We are having a BBQ therefore expect and arctic wind and downpours this afternoon as is tradition when we fire the BBQ up.- 687 replies

Seems like storm season is kicking off finally, a month late. Like most of the weather this year! This is the longest I've been in the NSC and getting twitchy!

Was lovely to hear the heavy rain this morning. Was expecting to hear some rumbles, but nothing. Looking forward to a warmer weekend as are my veggie seedlings, they've barely grown this year .

What a difference a couple of miles makes. We had the heavy rain and heard a vague rumble, but nowt else. -
Good to see the weather is warm and pleasant today as we are going to the wedding of our good friends.

I seem to have people on my FB reporting a T-Storm last night in my area. We had hail and heavy rain but no T&L at all. Maybe they thought the noise of the hail was thunder????

South East & East Anglia Regional Discussion 7th May 2013
Lauren replied to Snowangel-MK's topic in Regional
Seriously when can we expect some better weather? My veg garden is suffering terribly so a lot of time and money is going to waste, we've had to cancel days out and BBQ's because of the weather and it's all just rather depressing! I should be able to sit out in my garden with friends and family until it gets dark enjoying the warmth, some grilled food and a few drinks. Not hiding under a blanket in mid May! I do love weather in all its forms but this isn't even weather, it's just grey nothingness. It is getting beyond a joke.- 533 replies

Is it me or does the weather seem to be running a month or so behind? Crazy weather and showers into May, snow into April..... If I don't get a hot, but slightly delayed summer, the toys will be coming out of the pram.- 533 replies

Can't upload a picture, but Kynance Cove in Cornwall is my favourite UK beach. Some wonderful memories there.

Blimey, it's all gone a bit convective here. You'd be forgiven for thinking we were in the middle of a bad thunderstorm with the rain and wind............we're not though -

We were in London yesterday. When the squall passed through the city went almost nightlike. Very eerie. No storm though.- 533 replies

Erm, thick cloud cover? Sort it out. I can only hope it gets warmer as the day goes on, it's marginal light cardigan weather at the moment Warm enough still for a BBQ, but still....- 784 replies

Hoping for a sunny and hot BH Monday as we have the first family BBQ. Mind you tradition normally dictates sudden downpours and storms as soon as the meat hits the grill...- 784 replies
