If this storm does come to pass and I sleep through it, I shall kick myself.
-
I plan on doing just that Snow. Will sleep with the windows open so if it does start, it should wake me up.
-
I love how now the BBC and Met are only now talking about the T word and putting out warnings, just as it downgrades!
-
Have a look for viewpoints on the South Downs, Tom. I know you can park up at several but can't think of any off hand.
-
Netweather seems to be the only site forecasting storms tomorrow for me. Elsewhere says light rain.
-
Seems to have been a definite downgrade for Kent overnight.
-
Well the latest BBC forecast had storms far too sparsely spread for my liking. Seems to have been a slight downgrade on the GFS 6oz run.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Even if one is sceptical about MMCC, surely it's good sense anyway to look after the earth and do your best to be 'green'. That way if it isn't true then at least things are a bit nicer environmentally and if it is, well you've only gained, right?

I'm hope that I do
even If I get one storm and it only lasts 1 hour that's far too much for me , used to hide in closet but family concerned that In a very small confined space with all that heat I might do myself harm
In all seriousness, have you considered some type of meditation/relaxation methods to help you deal with your fear?
What is it that scares you exactly? If you know that then you might be able to focus on working on that aspect of it.

I will be so mad if that happens.BBC Forecast just said that the south east may remain dry and humid

I think we need to rename this thread 'More Hilarity from The Express'.
-
There's still plenty of time for it to shift in the wrong direction.
Not that I'm bitter or anything, nope, not me

What's with all the funnel clouds recently, seems like they are rife this year despite similar conditions in previous years.
-
I honestly haven't seen such a bad run of forecasting from the BBC in a while. Today it is supposed to be heavy rain all day and other than a brief couple of light showers this morning, that's been it.
Not sure what's going on, it's normally fairly reliable.

There does seem to be a gap around Medway doesn't there.Amazing westwards shift of high cape values. Annoying that I may just be too far EAST to see any storms. :fool:Central southern England and Wales has had a great year so far. I've had a few distant rumbles so far. Medway storm shield?
-
Blimey is it nearly Wimbledon time already? It seems the older I'm getting the years are flying by more quickly.

Completely OT, but I keep reading the title as 'Hugh Hefner after the rain'

The only thing I hate about the long daylight hours of Summer is that the light wakes me up in the mornings through the blinds. If it could start to get bright when I am about to wake up that would be fab.
I loathe going and coming home from work in the dark. It feels like you don't see sunlight for months.
I think my favourite is about August in terms of day length.

You know it's true!

Us Kentians are jaded after being stung so much with almost certain imports amounting to nothing. We don't like to show hope in fear of jinxing it.

I know the Medway storm shield too well to get excited.

Had some lovely mammatus here earlier but seems to have dissipated to a grey blanket.

Looks to be a cold front funnel cloud. No way near as serious as a supercell funnel. There have been a few reports of them recently.Heard reports that there was a small tornado in kent todayHere is a pic of it on Facebook
-
No way that happened. It's been blue skies most of the day. Unless there was a funnel like cloud which I saw near Sheppey the other day despite weather not being favourable.
Edit: I see the picture now. Almost identical to what I saw.

Absolutely zilch. Just started to rain now.
