Time to get in my chosen position and wait!!!!
Heading mid way up the A34, Tothill services to use / steal Mcdonalds electricity.
Like the look of any tail end charlies that can form in this area with a fair bit of wind shear and bucket loads of CAPE as the move East
Woooo-Hoooo

Good morning all Beautiful start to the day down here in Bournemouth.
Firstly all this talk of a bust at 7am needs to stop i've not even had breckie yet.
I'm still planning on chasing but looks like the drive could be a little further and the drive home even further
Thinking of heading to Oxford area mid morning and waiting to see how things develop, nicely located to head whichever way needed.
Good luck everyone

Taking a quick look at some of the HI Res charts there is still some quite big differences between them (as to be expected) below are a quick sample of said charts. Hirlam goes initially for a south east event edging into the midlands were as at the same time the arpege takes the main band sightly more North and West giving the midlands and east anglia more in the way of rain. Later on in the day hirlam gives most rain to the midlands ,northern england, towards the north east whilst the arpege takes it more towards yorkshire. Then again we could get nothing clear as mud.
I'll take the top chart please

Hi Dave,
I have also done the same! I have not planned where I will be driving too yet though. Any thoughts on where is best to set up first? I am coming from Buckinghamshire
I've not looked at charts in detail and as every run changes so will the focal points for tomorrow.
Will be spending some time on the forecasting this eve when I'm home from work, and also be asking on here for help.
No pressure guys, don't let me down

Could see flashing in the sky as I drove (within the speed limit) from bmouth, made it to Winchester services and it's all dead. Had planned on going up the A34 to intercept but she's dead Jim

I'm going to head to the M27 services near the split with the M3, and evaluate then, north or south.
Good luck everyone

Sorted a vehicle so the chase is on. Leaving Bournemouth in 30 mins and thinking I'll head towards Salisbury
Any one got any thoughts to help me out please

Morning all
To chase it not to chase , found myself with a day off today but my windscreen wipers have broken so would have to hire a car, which is £60
Is it going to be worth it, or is it just going to turn into a rain event?
What do you reckon?

i'm aware of that but just highlighting all those bright echos in the Atlantic, goes to show how things can intensify in a space of a few hours though so whilst the radar and even cloud images look rather ordinary, things can change quickly.
And thats why were all here waiting, hoping, anticipating....................

Radar looks pretty close to the GFS tbh
Especially as its the 12z run shown in the post

Looks like all the CAPE is out in the Atlantic with those bright echos
The CAPE is over most of the UK, just need a lifting mech.

Looking at that thing leaving France if it gets even half way I would be heading east.. It's a MONSTER
indeed it is
depends when your chasing if it's this evening IF I had the nerve to chase I'd go further east there's plenty in the channel at the moment but that's expect to weaken as it moves north and there's even a question mark of how north it gets
I've got until 5pm this eve when I have to be back to pick up girlfriend from work.
Any suggestions on good view points should I head east?
