Heard on BBCR2 reports of cars being stuck in floodwaters up to their bonnets in what is in/around the Bournemouth area.
My wife is In town (Bmouth) and confirmed flooding earlier. Said she was worried about the car so hope its not ours

the rain has all but stopped where I am in Bmouth for now but amazing contrasts in the sky. sun almost poking through and every shade of grey / black in the world, surface wind is fairly strong out of NE and cold, creating some lovely swirling cloud as it meets the upper winds out of the S / SW.
I cant find my camerra

Lol - like to know your have your priorities right!
If I were going to Sailsbury I would head for Old Sarum. It is a high hill with 360 degree view. Head on out of Sailsbury towards Stonehenge and you should see sign posts. Free to park. Hope you get lucky!
Thanks for the tip. Just about to hit the road now. Will upload any pics I get later on this eve.
Good luck all.

Im down in Bournemouth and will be heading north this friday afternoon for my first u.k. chase. Thinking I will head to the sailsbury area and see what comes my way.
Anybody recomend any good high spots that will give me a good view as I will have no internet access to radar when I hit the road.
If anybody is chasing in the area and would like to hook up or fancys a seat in the car / share fuel cost give me a P.M.
Have to be back in Bournemouth for 5pm as picking wife up from work, unless on something good then she may well be getting the bus home
-
well after getting tonight off work for my first U.K. chase in exchange for working this saturday night. I am some what dissapointed.
Never say never but not full of hope.
Time for a nap then of to the stour for a few hours fishing unless things change.

I am currently having the same dilemma Dave! I will wait until around 7pm before I make a decision. IF it goes to plan and we see the first storms erupt across CS England over towards the SE, then HOPEFULLY by placing ourselves towards the coast and what with sunlight fading a short while after, we should get to see the storms developing and lining up before being emmersed in shear ecstacy and electricity...that's the plan anyway
Thanks for the reply.
Just had some great news, my wife now has a lift from a work mate so Im now free (but still married ) so can chase later and possibly further afield.
So you think sit tight and wait for a while?
I'll put the kettle on then

I now have the eve of work and would like your opinions on where if anywhere I should head to and wait as this is my first uk chase.
In Bournemouth at mo and need to be back here for 10pm really but could get my wife to take a taxi home if needs be this eve.
Is there any good view points you would recommend to watch the show unfold with in 2 or so hours of Bournemouth.
Also, I have no internet access from when I hit the road. I chased East coast Oz and used the wifi connection at Mc donalds, do they have same free wifi in this country or anyone know of other options.
I know there is no way of knowing if storms will def go but just want to know what / where you would head to in my situation.
Of home to pack the car now, thanks and good luck all.
Sorry to quote / repost my post but if possible would like a little help with where to head. Head to SE coast (brighton way) or nw towards london, or stay put.
I do need to be back for 10pm, my wife was not very keen to say the least when I said to get the bus home.
Thanks Dave

Im no expert but , Even with a such high cape and lifted index if the air is capped (warm dry air above the good / energy filled air) then the Cu clouds cant grow that big as they are stopped when reaching this cap of warm air. As the day goes on this cap can be erroded or the surface heating will cause the rising air to over come it.
Again no expert but general jist
just seen you question has already been answered

Ok got my evening shift covered so as of 2pm Im free to chase, now just need something to chase.
Just started to spit with rain here in Bournemouth/christchurch. Mostly overcast but few holes trying to appear
-
I'd stay put. I think the stuff further East is worth chasing this evening, but you say you have to work. IMO best stay on the coast in Bournemouth to see if we get anything early doors off of the Channel. Best of luck!
Thanks for the reply. Will be taking the camera and laptop to work with me in Christchurch so will be ready to go as soon as I get out of work. Have text a work mate to see If I can get cover so fingers crossed.
And best of luck to you and everyone else.

My first post on here and hope to follow with my first U.K. chase later.
In bournemouth and its hot and becoming very hazy from the Sw with a light Se wind. small cumulus visible to my S and Nw.
I have to work 11am - 2pm then 6pm onwards so hope to get out for a few hours this afternoon if anything goes within 1hr drive but thinking about getting my shift covered so I could go a bit further afield.
Thinking about heading Winchester way at about 2pm hoping for the best, what you guys think.

What time do people think this should be hitting that area all being well.
