    Torrential rain this morning street is like a river.

    Just got home from work checked lightning map and have just missed out on a thunderstorm. that's 3 times in 2 days now Frustrating!

    Absolutely torrential rain here right now gutters over flowing its mental and has been for the last hour.

    Aaarrhh north of Bristol again Windy here and haven't had any rain since this morning Been quite a nice day.

    Got a feeling Im going to miss out on storms today. Had a few heavy showers and there hasn't been hardly any wind. Sun out now with grey sky to the north and blue sky to the south. Can only hope something happens later.

    Set alarm for 5am and checked lightning maps and was happy to see there was something coming shame it has died out now though:(

    Id take that forecast with a pinch of salt Chris Never seen our area with a thunderstorm risk like that before. don't get me wrong if it was to come off then it would be amazing for sure. I think at best we might get a couple of rumbles not expecting any proper thunderstorms though when you read some posts its hard not to get a little excited.

    Blimey that was some heavy rain that just hit here was surprised not to of heard any thunder as the sky looked thundery.

    Just had the first shower of the day go through was quite heavy but sun back out now and feeling warm The sun returning was perfect timing to stand in the garden and watch the Euro Fighter Typhoon do a display over Bristol Balloon Fiesta. I'm hoping I get to see a thunderstorm either today or tomorrow. Going dark again more rain imminent.

    didn't see any lightning heard 3 rumbles heavy rain for 10mins blue sky returning now. Have a pic as the storm was passing but cant seem to upload it.

    And within minutes its raining and yes Chris it does look darker towards you. Edit: BIG boom overhead!

    Not good can see the storm can hear it but I'm sat in warm sunshine missing out:(

    Just heard thunder hope it comes this way and doesn't stay in the Bristol channel.

    Oops seems ive unintentionally started a debate. Maybe I should of said the East of England and not just South East. What I'm trying to say is that overall when it comes to storms the East does very well where as the South West does poorly. I don't know how else to put this or explain what I'm getting at but lets say we take the last 10 years and look at how many storms there have been in the East compared to the South West. The East would win hands down but I'm not looking at it as a competition more at stats. that's what I meant by the hogging of storms. Sorry to of offended people didn't mean to I apologise.

    Finally some proper rain its needed. As for thunderstorms I think it will be along time before I see another one. Can't really complain as had 4 in one day in July but I still want more. Seems the SE will be hogging them as usual.

    Anything likely for us south westerners? Rain alarm keeps going nuts but haven't seen a drop all day and we really need some.

    what's the chances of the SW seeing more storms? Sleep caught up with me around 6pm and have just woke up so if there's a chance I'll be ready Would be sweet to get more storms tonight.

    Wiltshire doing ok for storms then. I know ive had a few but hopeing for more though as the day goes on I'm feeling less optimistic.

    Thanks for the heads up Karl I hope we do get more. Sister is in Egypt and is gutted about the storms. She needs to go away more often lol.

    Ha ha Shane well its about time us Bristol lot got our share we've had to wait months for something. Must admit it does feel good that we're getting storms and peeps who have had there fair share of storms already this year are not. Not meant in a horrible way but you know where I'm coming from. Hopefully the ones who have missed out so far do get something eventually. Good luck.
