Typical rubbish day in the east, cloud streaming in from the coast and a cold breeze. What a contrast to the last few fabulous days, summer ending with the usual whimper here, I may be able to record a drizzle day later on.

Yukky day here, cloud streaming in from the coast and a cold easterly breeze. Total contrast to the last few beautiful days we've had, I'm back to hoodies and socks!

Of course, this shower would have been accompanied by at least one rumble of thunder, but this is Norfolk....
-
Had a brief shower earlier, it's gone quite dark here, I can barely see my keyboard so another shower on the way (I'm now counting "shower days rather than "thunder days" )

I've got someone's tatty left over anvil, that has to count as a thunder day in these parts!

We have someone's tatty left over anvil, I guess that has to count as a thunder day here!

Got the grass cut as it's been cloudy with some breeze. Heat doesn't bother me overmuch but it's surprising how quickly the garden is crying out for some rain again, the limp astrantias are always a good indicator!

Cloudy with a breeze, that's it for Norfolk for this year, 3 popcorn storms during the day, one visible flash of lightning, spread over 5 months. One day we may see a return of the 80s and 90s...

Hot n hazy afternoon here, managed some gardening this morning but then the rugby got in the way.....

I never do mine during September, always have a garden full of solitary bees. Don't want to decapitate them all by accident. Although doing it in the late evening wouldn't be a problem, they seem to like weaving through the grass.
My garden is very bee friendly (some neighbours have beehives so I like to help out) but I've found that bees learn really quickly (I've just read an article on training bees via classical conditioning) that mower = bad. Also, leaving the grass to grow with 5 dogs? Eek....poop city!

Better than the complete nothingness in the South East.
Or the nothingness in the East.

Another corking day, although I think I'll be cutting the grass later with a head torch

Gorgeous day, blue skies, endless sunshine and a nice onshore breeze.

Two or three rumbles here, one incredibly bright flash which I even saw tucked away in the shower.
3/10 for effort, the 2nd strongest storm this year (the strongest managed about 6 rumbles)
-
Crikey! Huge bright flash, so bright I saw it in the shower, and a big crash of thunder.
What passes for a massive storm in Norfolk these days...

Been a lovely day, sunny and warm.
Might drizzle a bit soon. Dare I say the garden could do with some decent rain!
-
Sitting in my little front courtyard garden, the sky is as black as anything. 20 years ago we'd be having a decent storm but these days, nothing. Nada. Zilch.

It's absolutely chucking it down here in Christchurch, no sign of anything electrical yet, but I do have my eye on the stuff out in the channel.
Here is something I put together, I edited most of the storm footage and pictures I managed to capture while over in Burgundy last week, unfortunately I'm not there for today's storms, but I can't complain too much really

I must think about holidaying in central France at some point (although my sister is not a fan of storms!)
