Lol, no one has said that.
As I said earlier, only Estofex got it right. The current warning system does nothing to reinforce people's trust in forecasting!

10 minutes of ploppy rain = OMG we're all going to diiiiiiiiie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ridiculous.
-
Seems tonight's 10 minutes of ploppy rain is now Armageddon.
I'm completely underwhelmed...

As I thought, it's picked up intensity, you can bet your bottom dollar, it'll explode once it gets to the north sea
Area 51 is calling! It'll probably keep going for 10+ hrs and make landfall in Sweden...

Every flipping time. Anything forecast for the east and SE just turns into a Kent clipper with some light rain elsewhere. We've had rubbish year after rubbish year and no sign of anything changing.

The rain band has pepped up slightly, I'm guessing this was what the song and dance as all about, what with smiley Carol rabbiting on about 2cm hail on BBC BReakfast this morning!
-
The drizzle has morphed into heavier drizzle with some actual rain further south, but I think Estofex had more of a handle on things than the MetO etc. They should really stop going into a meltdown at the slightest indication of moderately heavy rain.

European Storm Forecast Experiment - ESTOFEX
WWW.ESTOFEX.ORGI think Estofex have called it correctly, not going with the stormaggedon forecasted earlier by UK outlets.

As I said, very modest instability over us. Not surprised to see this turning out as I expected it to. Most activity remaining offshore. I’ll get excited when I see 2500 j/KG CAPE being pumped directly N along the whole S Coast from Bournemouth to Kent like July 2015.
Indeed, that produced the last series of decent storms we've had in this area. I got lucky twice, in Holland a month later!

Distant rumbles to the south, 20.8°C and still very muggy despite the rain.
My head pressure tells me we're going to get it......
I've got a headache, but atm only drizzle heading this way.

I see the torrential drizzle is only a couple of hours away. I can barely contain myself...

Everyone saying how humid it is, it ain't here! It's cold and I've got a blanket over my legs in the lounge!

Morning large thunderstorm through central France today.
If I was going to live in France, somewhere around Clermont Ferrand would be my choice!

Where I can understand the frustrations of this year's storm season for some, can we please stay on topic and not derail this thread into a thread about the performances of the Met Office.
As for this evening, there is still a bit of uncertainty as to where any storms will occur or if any will occur at all. I was planning on chasing this evening despite the inevitable long drive. However I'm now not convinced the drive would be worth it.
Edit: Eastward shift on AROME 12z. Risk area now looks to be Kent and then grazing the coasts of Essex and southern Suffolk.
A late in the day easterly shift seems to be standard now.
I wish I was in Holland tonight instead of a couple of weeks ago!

Not a warm day at all here, unless you're out of the nagging onshore wind in an occasional patch of sun. I've had to add another layer!
-
The sun's finally made an appearance, nicely timed after I've been flat out in the garden since about 10am (as in working!) Time for a well earned Pimms....

I don’t go off of netweather storm risk, all the times I’ve had storms, they forecasted me such a low chance
Doesn't matter if it's 0% or 100%, it never happens

Netweather has my storm risk at a whopping 8% (mid Norfolk) tonight . On the other hand I may get torrential rain.

I wouldn't say East Anglia, more like the North Sea
