  1. Warm enough for shorts this afternoon for a couple of hours Thursday - who knows? N Essex and Mid Suffolk can be the places to catch something, Norfolk not so much these days.
  2. They get corking storms over the islands, lucky beggars!
  3. Just had approx 37 fat raindrops from the shower close to Norwich. Looks like more pot and veg garden watering this evening....
  4. Currently camping nr Wisbech, caravan, awning and windbreaks holding up well in a strong gusty wind! Judging tomorrow but not sure if the Kyham will still be there if we manage to put it up later today....
  5. Skyline have a webcam for Durres, Albania. Should be something visible soon, possibly. Can't find a decent one for Tirana though.
  6. Netweather are kindly giving me a cumulative total of 10-14mm for the week. Very generous, hope it's underestimated! Rainfall total for July, Aug and Sept is 42mm. June alone was 61mm! Trees have been losing leaves since mid August and mature shrubs are looking what can only be described as sick.
  7. Been in Croatia, got back on Tues. Zadar was kind enough to deliver a corking storm on Saturday evening. Unfortunately I've never had to deal with street lighting or scenery during a storm, given that most of my storms in Norfolk are devoid of anything apart from darkness, so it was all a bit hit and miss. When it really ramped up I was driven off the balcony by horizontal rain and very squally winds, suffice to say it was very very noisy. I've included one where it felt like I'd been punched in the chest by a giant (I think I must have stabbed the camera button on my phone by accident, I was swapping from DSLR to a bit of videoing at the time).

  9. Can't believe that yet again not so much as a sniff at some rain, never mind a storm. It's as bad as 2018 in terms of below average rainfall, August is traditionally a wet summer month in this part of the country.
  10. Once again any action (and I include rain in that) is in Lincs and the NE. Dreadful here, lack of rain is as bad as it was in 2018.
  11. Can see them from here, absolutely massive, there's about 3 in a line. Oh well, always next year eh?
  12. Oof! 8.39 - that was like a bomb going off! Just interested - what's the pool house framework made from? Is it a very fine mesh?
  13. Proper, perfect rain! No storms (as expected) but I'll take this rain over that!
  14. Light patchy rain, can see even 5mm if this is what to expect for the rest of the day on and off.
  15. Netweather are only predicting 5mm for the Norwich area today. That really isn't going to make a whole lot of difference!
  16. Hoping the predicted rainfall on Wednesday afternoon makes an appearance rather than fizzling out. Desperate here, everything looks as bad as this time last year.
  17. There's certainly a whiff of something in the air round here, but it ain't autumn
  18. Not even much in the way of rain in Norfolk, everything passing to the north or south. Never mind storm starved, we're rain starved
  19. Pathetic isn't it? Been over nr Towcester at a dog show today, lovely build up, drove through various heavy rains on the way back via A605 etc, got into Norfolk and the roads were pretty much dry. No measurable rain at home either. Radar showed everything travelling north or south of us; maybe we'll get some rain in November?
  20. Better not hear any whingeing about a lack of storms for the NE/NW/Scotland in 2020
  21. Remember folks, if anyone from the NE, the NW or Scotland whinges about not having any storms, we can gently remind them about 2019.....
  22. Oh look, rain! *waves*. Nice seeing you from a distance. This is getting ridiculous.
