  1. I must be the only person in the UK sitting with a blanket over their legs
  2. Yep, managing it nicely. Actually having to top some fields to keep them tidy and up to scratch!
  3. Um, was this forecasted i.e. imports from France? EDIT - try reading the forecast properly....
  4. This year has been almost spot on. Excellent hay crop with competitive prices, a good mix of moisture and sun preventing any swing towards intense irrigation/flooding, certainly around here. Harvest well underway. I'd call this an average summer tbh!
  5. Loving the heat, sorry! Shame all we'll get is the ubiquitous "change to cooler conditions from the west" - what on earth has happened to our stormage over the past years?
  6. I'll just be basking in this lush heat upstairs, sleeping like a baby. Too many busts for the east this year and this doesn't have our name on it (quelle surprise).
  7. Can't believe I'm still here and likely to stay for the rest of the forecast period. If anyone says the south and east get all the storms one more time I will NOT be responsible for my actions!
  8. I think it varies tbh. I can remember some corkers at completely different times of the day/night - 7.30pm (I was on the roof of the greenhouse, never got down so fast from anywhere), 9.30am (I was judging at a dog show in Lincs that day and suspended judging, the lightning was rather worrying - that was probably an MCS), 2.30pm (sounded like the guns on the battle area nr Cressingham, it was actually constant thunder); 11am (remembered for all the wrong reasons i.e. leaving a velux window wide open whilst out shopping and finding a junior water fall...). These examples were all in the 80s/90s. Since then the better examples have all been post midnight with very few daytime storms bar the occasional popcorn variety.
  9. Definitely agree with you on this. An obvious decline in thundery activity over several years especially in the east (Thetford used to be called the lightning capital of the UK). Even our traditionally active month (August) here has been noticeably quieter over the past 10 years. Year on year storms have been conspicuous by their absence and later every year.
  10. But again, only just about managing a Kent clipper - so what's going on?
  11. Well who'd have thought it? Not a sausage (apart from a fake orange one). Even the rain seems embarrassed to be nothing other than....rain.
  12. Noooo! that's back to Kent again and then a hard right into Benelux as per usual
  13. Yep it is, ranks up there with freshly cut hay!
  14. ooh I love it, been working outside most of the day! So nice to feel properly warm at last. Not sure about actually taking off after any action, got a full on dog training day tomorrow and I'll be half asleep (probabl)y end up dashing home, chucking a couple of dogs in the van and heading to Suffolk. On the other hand, I could just take the dogs with me!
  15. East of the Hatch by some margin (well, 20-30 miles I guess) - I can wait. I'm good at waiting. Been waiting since 2015....
  16. seems my "joke" forecast last week was horribly accurate - not usual for Norfolk to have rubbish weather this time of year when the rest of the country is basking in glorious sunshine!
  17. OMG, I scrape -3. My cup hath runneth over.......(but we all know it's not size that matters )
  18. Yet another event which was notable for its absence in eastern regions. Things have certainly changed over the past 20yrs.......
