  1. @Nick F is there any chance of activity into the evening night on Friday or is it all intended for daylight consumption?
  2. MetO have zero storms for the far east of the region Friday into Saturday. Sadly quite often they're correct but hopefully they've got it horribly wrong this time...
  3. Would prefer Friday night if possible. Day time storms are so wasteful, all that lovely lightning....
  4. Forget the 3rd/4th July 2015, it was pathetic here. But a repeat of the storm train on 16th/17th when I only had to drive a mile or so for the full effect and zero rainfall to spoil the view....yes please!!!
  5. It was still 31c at around 4pm but tempered with a very blustery onshore breeze - I found it quite easy to deal with a large diseased shrub around 2pm without melting!
  6. And west and north for me. Looks like several more days without rain at least to the following weekend. Almost the end of July and not a single storm? Ridiculous.
  7. Thanks Nick. Slightly baffling to see a warning out for the East of England on the MetO site when the actual area shown is anything but the East!
  8. I actually experienced actual rain in Kent last Friday - it was brilliant!
  9. They need tying to a stake and dousing in diesel - might put them off doing it.
  10. Oh dear, off to Kent tomorrow - talk about rocks and hard places! I think Norwich may be too far north and east so would have to take a drive, likewise north Kent may be badly placed as well! Can't chase unfortunately so probably a missed opportunity back home....grrr....
  11. Another mostly cloudy day with light winds, still pretty warm though. Would like to see the sun again at some point.....
  12. Must admit I'm loving the hot weather especially after such a vile winter. BUT - we need rain now, I've got no grazing left at all, just dumped 50% of my flock at the livestock market on Saturday as so many others have done. I almost cried when I saw that heavy rain at the WC Final
  13. This evening is probably going to be the first and only evening so far this summer when an evening meal outside has been possible - it's always been chilly by 6pm and windy (let's guess the wind direction...)
  14. That rain in London has barely moved, must be a decent total out of that in the Harrow/Edgeware areas.
  15. 2018 will be very high on the list of years with little/no storms in my area. Almost the end of July and literally only one storm recorded (and I wasn't even at home!) Appalling, it just gets worse year on year.....
  16. Low cloud finally gave in around 1pm, since then blue skies with temps recovering nicely into the low to mid 20s. Chance of rain, nil. Maybe next week but really not holding my breath for anything significant.
  17. Cold and grey all day, default weather has returned, hopefully only for a day or so. I could handle it if these miserable skies produced some rain.....
  18. Scorching and sunny in Suffolk today, back to Norfolk late afternoon and once again too cold to sit in the garden. Ridiculous - I'm well to the west of Norwich but that's not good enough.
  19. Morning all, gorgeous morning here. Looking forward to some nice hot weather - but unfortunately we'll end up with a howling E'ly onshore which inevitably ruins everything
