  1. I've resisted doing so, so far - bar the phlox which always look like dying ducks in a thunderstorm after a few days without rain! Daily pot and basket watering though as expected.
  2. I recorded 3mm It was like...well....not a lot really. I've seen wetter grass from heavy dew tbh.
  3. I think it rained overnight. A bit. The lack of rainfall in the east should be highlighted!
  4. Seems I'll be getting a predicted mammoth 5mm of rainfall. That's really going to make a difference.....
  5. Hi Ed, it's dreadful isn't it? I've only got 9mm of rainfall recorded for July which mostly came from the storms at the end of the month. My autumn garden clearance is now 2 months early and the grazing is looking sad, admittedly not as bad as last year but not far off.
  6. Four minutes of light rain yesterday, showers even more isolated today (not sure they could be any more isolated but hey ho!) Hoping for some decent rainfall Friday/Saturday.
  7. Some standard rain would be nice, garden looking very stressed with trees dropping leaves like crazy
  8. A pleasant 23C under milky skies, radar shows rain in the immediate area but not a drop. Really desperate for some decent rainfall now
  9. Bless it, still going strong and barely moving. Maybe it's moved in permanently to Area 51? A sort of thundery N Sea Stromboli?
  10. Feeling about () that much cooler compared to yesterday! Still hot and humid and without the decent onshore breeze we had. Still, can't complain after two excellent stormy interludes. Drove through heavy rain last night with a lot of surface water towards the coast but very little rain at home, barely 3mm. Luckily I'm one of those who can sleep anywhere any time so the hot nights haven't been an issue at all. Hate me now!
  11. Almost as good as the 16th/17th but needed to be a tad further west! It was good fun though
  12. Tonight's offerings - we have been spoilt after waiting for so long!
  13. Well that was fab! Annoying rain prevented my from bagging my prime spot and every time I moved on the rain caught up! Anyway well worth the drive out to Hemsby and Winterton, saw some stunning lightning which lit up the A47 like daylight. Just parked up and enjoyed the show tbh! Some minor damage around Waxham/Horsey with foliage and some branches strewn along about 2 miles of road.
  14. Agree, coastal areas only. Worth a drive to the coast though unless it veers off sharply into the N Sea (and explodes into life!)
  15. The storms in the south east (Essex/Suffolk) look like being a coastal only affair at the moment. Should be some good views on the coast.
  16. Fab pics everyone! We had a few crumbs from the rich man's table around 4am, nothing spectacular but enough to grab some shots. Canon 60D with Canon 10-22mm lens. I also have trouble with getting clean focus, not so much the lightning but the background (or lack of it in mid Norfolk!). I could have done with being another 20 miles further S and E but as I cricked my neck really badly minutes before leaving I stayed local, about a mile from home lol. Quite cross as I could have grabbed some daylight pics but forgot to keep the shutter to around 5 sec.
  17. Smallish storm, nothing really spectacular. Few nice anvil crawlers. Very little thunder bar a few rumbles from the odd CG.
  18. London storm now doing the standard move towards Suffolk and the coast. I could cry.
  19. The storm crawling painfully slowly in the east seems to be a standard storm. Not much to write home about and a strike rate around 10 - 20% of the others.
  20. Heads up N Essex, S Suffolk and who knows, maybe N Suffolk and S Norfolk too. It might not be much but a few crumbs are always welcome in the storm desert of East Anglia!
  21. Heads up N Essex and Suffolk, you may see some flashes soon if not already.
