It always makes me laugh when I see a vid on YT or somewhere saying "severe storm UK" and it's has like 2 flashes of lightning in 20 minutes! -
We're too easily pleased these days, it's why I'm heading back to Holland next year in the fond hope I'll see something!

I tend to try and ignore convective forecasts as so many (like this one) big up the eastern region and follow it up with precisely zilch.

Lightning activity seems to have died out, leaving a whole mess of heavy rain.

Back to trawling YT for decent storm footage for me, it's the only way I get to see any lightning these days!

Usual Norfolk yawnfest, some excitement earlier with a bit of heavy rain at lunchtime, which is as good as it gets here. Looks like the action will stay west of the A1M or in the N Sea.

Hoofed it down here for over an hour, I couldn't even get back from the barn to the house so amused myself chiselling off the last remaining lumps of sheep poo cardboard from the ex-sheep pen and managed to off load the last trailer full of muck. No thunder but some boobies floating past on the back edge.

I'll take the extra warmth (helps cut down on heating) but I'm sure the Med doesn't do dull and grey that often! Once again the east misses out....

A typical summer's morning in Norfolk, dull and grey. Looks like the heavy rain will as usual give this area a wide berth! At least it's warm.....

Early morning murk has disappeared and the sun is making an appearance, so I can stop clceaning and get on outside, yay!!!

I loved Zadar, shame Sleazyjet failed to bring our luggage though, so we couldn't actually go anywhere in case the airport phoned to say it was being couriered. Missed out on trips to Pag, the Plitvice Lakes etc., some 60th birthday holiday that was...not. Will have to go back at some point to make up for it! -
Very quiet day weatherwise, cloudy with very little breeze and warm enough to carry on gardening in shorts and vest. If there are any gardeners, look out for a variegated Knautia with magenta flowers called Thunder and Lightning, I couldn't resist it!

Some rather attractive anvils floating about today, the wrong sort of anvils obviously, but almost the first decent cloudscape all year! However, it should either rain all day or at night, this constant downing gardening tools for 20 mins every hour is starting to grate somewhat.
