  1. That has just appeared in Bedford to which little one wanted to know if there was money at the end of it
  2. 17.1 here black as night and coming down in buckets
  3. Funny you should say that as since the upgrade whenever I press view new content I go straight to the first page of the Model Discussion thread, however above the first post there is a button to move to last unread post. For me it only seems to appear on that thread as all the others go to the post just after the last one I have read. Paul, thanks for the mobile skin as hopefully that should work better on the works internet. Chris
  4. Cloudy with light rain showers and not too warm at 14.1c.
  5. I am having trouble viewing the forum at work as everything is out of line, I am sure it's something running on our network. Just wondered if there was a low res version available on the internet (as was in the previous version), when using my blackberry there appears to be one. thanks Chris
  6. Interesting to note that the met office have updated their web site at just before 10am for the East of England which now refers to a developing area of rain, thundery at times and a brisk NE wind developing, earlier it was mentioning showery rain when updated at 3am. Interesting day me thinks. Chris
  7. We have family around and have had to put the fire on in backroom to take the chill off the room
  8. Nice here in Bedford at around 7c, different to yesterday when it was just under 3c with a keen NNE wind
  9. Do you remember those MFI sales, they seemed to go on forever when the gave the impression it was the last week
  10. My goodness how quickly can time fly as I really can't beleive today is the 1st March. This has been a great regional forum and a nice place to retreat when the going got tough in the model forum. See you at the end of the year, bring on the April showers and summer thunderstorms. Bye Chris
  11. I really don't understand why anyone should be laughing now as since the cold December we haven't been subject to mild sw winds and temeperatures up in the high teens for weeks after weeks. I admit it would be nice to have some more snow this winter (although I saw a few flakes on thursday) but to have a repeat of the synoptics in December would be very hard. Having said that I am off to Whipsnade Zoo tomorrow and notice on the Met office web site it mentions the possibilty of a few snow flurries so maybe I will at least see another flake this winter whilst trying to keep warm looking at the animals in there nice warm buildings
  12. Some very light snow grains here in Bedford and a cutting wind with ice on the puddles this morning which is a shock to the system after the past couple of weeks.
  13. They must be the ones that travel under the cover of darkness and try and sneak up when you are on lamp post watch and just gone to get a drink
  14. Yes I would agree a big shame. At the start of the thread someone mention that four people were leaving but in the press only three names seem to be mentioned. Did anyone notice when Peter Gibbs finished his forecast a few nights ago he said something similar so is he the other one.
  15. I must admit when I sat in the car this morning with the rain bouncing off the roof thinking if this was snow I would have needed a JCB to dig me out . However having said that I must admit that not having to have the central heating on full for a week or so will help the finances after Decembers bill and then I would be ready for a cold snowy end to January. Just to keep on topic it's 7.3c here at the moment. Chris
  16. I think it's worth a try and see how this goes for a couple of weeks, hopefully when the colder weather returns and the voulume of posts increase. I agree with the point made earlier that we seem to have four threads running and maybe merging the new thread with the technical one maybe an option. Just a thought, if you gave all the members who have been invited to post on the new thread a reputation of 1,000 and added that option I could just set my threshold to that on the model thread and obtain the new thread I'll get me coat. Chris
  17. JennyJane I think you have quoted yourself so I won't quote you again :smiliz19: Happy lampost watching. Chris
  18. I see the warnings have moved further north for any snow problems, but agree MKsnowangel it worth watching the lampost for two reasons. Firstly it could be the last snow for a while and secondly the council may introduce their cost cutting saving policy by switching it off very soon Chris
  19. Maybe we will see some snow for a short period of time on Friday although it looks milder for the weekend at present, should help the gas bill Chris
  20. Funny you say that fine wine as I have been looking at the radar and I wondered if it was a false reading which happens from time to time, however you report proves it's true. Now where's my flake, to the lamp post :smiliz19: Chris
  21. Well it does look like getting colder from Saturday with cold front coming down from the north and it looks as though temperatures on Monday could be near of just above zero. I have one patch of snow remaining and the fish pond has one small bit of ice left which may increase again. I see the toys out of the pram and IMBY comments have been flying around within the model thread as to what happens later next week. Shame really as there are some good posts however they seem to get lost in the rubbish. I don't think I am going mad but does she had two sets of daytime maximum temperatures on the board at the end of the broadcast, take a look here under the local tab :smiliz23: http://news.bbc.co.u...t/312?area=MK42 Chris
  22. Having looked at this mornings Met Office forecast for East Anglia it gives the following forecast for Tuesday to Thursday, where as yesterday it was talking about a thaw. Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Rain, sleet or snow is forecast for Tuesday, but clearing later. Cold southerly winds. Mainly dry on Wednesday, then dry, but colder again on Thursday as winds turn easterly. Updated: 0241 on Sun 26 Dec 2010 I must go and have a look at the Fax Chart. It will be interesting to see the day 6 to 15 forecast when issued later. Chris PS Yes you can see the front on Thursday (Occ) moving back westward, would be interesting to see the chart after that.
  23. Inspection of the car roof tonight showed some small snow grains from those showers which were dying out as they moved south :smiliz34:
