I predict it will be 84f on the first of Febuary followed by 24f on the second... A drop of 50f in less than 24 hours..

This June is far worse than last summers.. Last June was pretty sunny just rather cold.. The summers just seem to getting worse by the year.Even today in west-yorkshire.. Its dry but still very cloudy supressing the temperture..

I recall the same thing said last summer.. People gave an opinion about how the summer was panning out. And others replied yeah its only June etc. . I hope we actually get a good July and August.. We do deserve one month that can be considered "summer"..

Thanks for the optimism you show in your posts mate.. I wish, i was has confident.Just seems no end to the bad weather..even the couple of days next week that are predicted to be nice.. won't turn out to be that great either in my personal opinion..

How can anyone predict what it will be like in September when most forecasters can't tell you what it will be like in 7 days? No doubt if September turns out to be nice,that will vilify the we know what the weather will be like in 50 year brigade.

Oh yeah i forgot that.. sort of makes up for April 85% of May and now June..

I see,hes trying to soften the blow with his current forecast..Its ok chaps we are having a pretty wet summer.. But lets look back at the past year and how dry its been oh and then look forward to next winter incase its dry.. JUST SAY IT.. Summer 2012 is going to be dimissal.. Please dont bring up how dry the weathers been in the past as some kind of saving grace.. Facts are we have not had a decent summer for 6 whole years..

As said above its the position of the uk.. If you want "decent" summer weather dont expect to see it in the united kingdom. Apart from 8/9 days at the end of May the weather as been dire for almost 3 months..

global warming where the temperture increases and it feels colder?....Then again we have to accept its the uk.. You have to have laugh.. I bet from space everytime the the United kingdom comes into view on the international space station its covered in a thick blanket of cloud... Lets all sing the sun has got his hat on and July/August and September are scorchers ... Then i will complain i can't sleep at night because its to warm...

Its been the repetative nature of the weather thats been so downright disappointing... Theres no let up in the drabness.. Lets hope things improve soon.. If we get an heatwave that lasts 2/3/4 days am not even gonna bother taking my coat and jumper off ....

Well there was last summers forecast of summer of 76..weatheroutlook predicted a good start to June.. You can gurantee no one predicted how poor April was going to be.. The long range forecasting doesnt seem to work.. I was being truthful personally when it came to this summer. Having seen how the last 6 summers have gone.. Its been a similar patern.. Im no expert but i do understand the jet stream and to be frank its this south because its meant to be.. Thats all my annoyance is about..

Because thats my personal opinion. I may be wrong... But a guess is better than experts. getting it wrong all the time..

The lastest summer forecast? its not possible to predict the weather in the uk long range anyhow..ive read numerous predictions in advanced most of the predicting a good summer.. When on reality the jet stream stays to the south of us on many occasions.. Thats the way the weather is in the uk. Then we get other forecasters telling us to keep our fingers crossed the weather improves by the end of the month.. I wish the truth was told about the jet stream.. It barely goes to the north of us.. In recent times its been even further south... 2012 will be another average to poor summer.

Can i make an observation?? Why is the Jet stream expected to be more norther than it currently is? A bbc weather forecaster just said this.. From what i've seen in recent summers this is not the case.. Maybe its not meant to be? and on occasion it does drift slightly more north or lessons to some extent. But that in an exception to the rule... Sorry am no weather expert.. But i'd like to know what exactly the facts are regarding the Jet Stream..

Well we are back to normal now..

Even if the weather changes for June.. We will get 4 days of above average tempertures but it will be cloudy.. For the next two weeks after that it will be below average and windy..This accurance as been a common theme in the last 5 summers.. Ofcourse we don't get summers like 2006 and 2003 that often. But these days we dont even get a week of decent settled warm weather.. There in lays the problem with the weather for some people. The weekend may have been nice out of the wind.. But thats one weekend! from today onwards the weather as gone back to the original state..

It may have been nice in the "sunshine" but the nagging north westerly was an annoyance...The weekend in is looking pretty dire to..When the wind blew which was quite often the temperture dropped dramatically.

what annoys me is some weather forecasters that make people believe the weather is getting better in a few days. Take John Hammond for instance. And the really poor bank holiday weather.. In his forcast he metions there will be no heatwave this weekend... Why mention the word heatwave in a forecast. It gives people the impression one is about to happen.. When its obviously not going to.. The public are fed up with the current cold wind and rain.. I dont recall 2 months in a row where its felt this chilly for instance.. it seems a common theme in recent years..

Yeah! we dont seem to get any settled periods anymore. I'd be suprised if we get any rarely dry summer months this year again.. But dont fret we will get the weather people coming out with a jug and saying we are still in a drought..

Last years summer was the coldest for almost 20 years... Recently the weather has been poor.. Thats why you get the smiling weather forcasters bringing out stastics for how warm its been..Like on christmas day 2011 it was 15c in Aberdeen now its 7c... I think most of us have been disappointed of the recent summers.. Even if its been dry for months on end the summers have been equally poor..

Hello again.. Sorry i have not had time to read the entire conversation.. But would like to ask a question to the historians of weather contributers on these here forums.. With the weather that is predicted in the following days. Is this kind of weather unheard of at this time of year IE to last for several days with the highs that are predicted. As there been cases in the past say 20/30/40 years of it occuring?.

You cannot learn from long term forecasts because its impossible,there is countless vairables in the english climate. Only last weekend they predicted wednesday and thursday was going to be nice in my area inparticular, it poured it down yesterday and looking out the window am in for similar conditions today.. Sorry for going off on a tangent you can look at charts but all it takes is one day to go wrong in the chart and it throws everything off kilter..
