  1. Same here. The bleak district and wales never seem to get the exciting weather.
  2. Nah I was playing loud thunder sound effects on my PC and I blew up the sub woofer.
  3. I will wine about the fact that there have been no storms here all year and there won't be today. I said to myself either we get a big storm today or have a toss and get drunk now I know which it is.
  4. What a nice exciting day of fat juicy epic fail. Bored of summer. Nothing on radar (netweather that is). I was watching the radar, but decided to have a little kip instead, and it's the most interesting thing to happen all day!
  5. The surface cold front is rapidly moving into the peak district now having already travelled through Liverpool/Manchester, temp dropping very quickly, dropped 1°C in less than 15 minutes from 22 to 21 degrees. Wind now out of the north west.
  6. A lot of people especially where I live wait even years for a good storm and so when they think they may be in with a chance then what do you expect. So then if you know so much you tell me, are we likely to get a storm up here? If not, then that's even longer to wait and you can see why it is disappointing to some people. Not.
  7. The drizzle has arrived in the bleak district now, this is our Spanish Plume Storm then is it?
  8. Stupid status clouds and now the temperature is dropping like a rock, can't foresee thunder storms tonight in the bleak district (but the last time I heard thunder was like 2 years ago uh).
  9. Reached a lukewarm 24.5°C here today and has been quite humid too.
  10. 24.3°C here, now fairly cloudy, dewpoint 18°C.
  11. Midnight conditions Temperature: 14.2°C Dewpoint: 13°C Humidity: 96% 1021.9hpa +
  12. There are no 20 degree 850hpa temps in the UK on that chart. You are looking at the 15 degree isotherm. The 20 degree isotherm is over France.
  13. Heatwave definition for the Peak District: 2 days above 20°C.
  14. Cold and rainy day here, 15c with rain again and slate gray skies.
  15. Slate gray skies, drizzle and 15 degrees C here. Scorcher!
  16. Max was a poor 14.3 and now the drizzle is here. 4 hours of sun in the morning but I got up at 1pm with a smashing hangover and then moved onto the weed to suppress my depression over this hideous nuclear winter weather.
  17. That bit in bold..... hideous. Here it reached 26 degrees in June 2006 and 25 degrees three times last June. I used to live in SE England so 25 degrees is barely even warm for me. That was closer to the average high for July (24C) where I lived. I've been through plenty of 90's (32.2c) temps in SE England. B-E-Autiful. Needless to say I hope to move away from here soon. Even bloody Manchester is a climatic upgrade over here. That's very sad. Going by your post I bet 25c feels to you like how 40c would feel to me.
  18. In my place we hit 25 degrees on 26th, 27th and 28th of June, and not at all in July. But June was generally very warm and sunny with an average high around 19 degrees and very dry. "Shades of 76" would have fitted that far better than this one.
  19. Even last June/1st half of July was closer to "shades of 1976" than this summer... by far. Now people are calling 1 day of 25°C a "heatwave" it shows how desperate we have become. There was once a time when a "heatwave" was at least 3 consecutive days over 30°C and not just in the SE. Even in my part of Derbyshire Peak District last June we managed a lot of days reaching 25°C.
  20. Rained literally all day today, sujn only came out after 5.30, in the evening, too little too late. 8.2mm of drizzly rain and a high of 12.0°C
  21. In August 2008, many parts of the Midlands and East Midlands only reached 19-20°C maxes with15-16°C 850hpa temps under persistent cloud. So this forecast is plausible.
  22. 124hrs of sunshine so far. Dull here.
  23. Ridiculous cold today, made worse by the fact I live in a cold house. I really shouldn't be needing to still have the heating on in June..
