  1. Lot of hard work went into your reply to weatherguy but It was good at the time of the post for september , its very early season so snow melts heres looking up at the mountain when he posted that morning now http://panocam.skiline.cc/lauberhorn click archive
  2. Extra snow mainly in Iceland http://www.icelandreview.com/icelandreview/daily_news/Storm_Still_Raging,_Blackout_and_Lost_Tourist_0_402964.news.aspx Sun now has a little more activity so no strange flatlining
  3. lets play spot the difference! on the rotating sun. when will this effect us if any? eg N.H. snow and ice
  4. not sure how that ties in with the graph posted which says The latest value: 4,834,931 km2
  5. that graph has been so long in the negative ,since the 1990's time for a change?
  6. ok....more meaningless but lovely September snow Point barrow has a big temp drop in the last few days, showing the change of season so no more above freezing temps meaning 'any rain is snow' http://www.yr.no/place/United_States/Alaska/Point_Barrow/long.html http://www.camscape.com/view/34011 Iceland also put a display of the snowgress towards winter eg http://www.yr.no/place/Iceland/Nor%C3%B0urland_Eystra/Askja/ Some sun but plenty of the white stuff. come a long way in a couple of weeks the snow is still normal as shown by having some red on it so no ice age just yet! last year
  7. very little change on the latest image, must be ready to build by next week (todays) (yesterdays)
  8. Thanks for that IF looks like no harm to the N.H. snow and ice chances in those charts thats for sure. Just need it warmed, weakened, split up and displaced in a few months for the coldies!
  9. lucky for me there is enough differences between different years to keep the progress watch interesting.
  10. Ok I went over the top with the 'pretty sure' especially for the last frame of my animation so I downgrade that statement to gut feeling Do you have any thoughts/gut feeling on the state of the SAI for the coming month?
  11. well spotted with the ice melt , I thought we had turned a corner with the ice but its seems its not quite there yet.
  12. heres that wonderful October 2012 SAI in action, but with recent signals of whats ahead I'm pretty sure Oct 13 will not be far behind.
  13. Looks like the far north has a head start on last year, best place to start banking the cold.
  14. Any time f1f I am looking for decent live feeds this winter hopefuly from the far north, it seems like still captures are the norm and hd 360 ones not a bad stop gap! I see that it snowed lower down over night and them melted by 11am should be the same tomorrow. I think we are seeing the weather put a toe in the water before the winter top board plunge! snow on the forecast is not being matched by the cam. Perhaps yr.no is being too progressive I will have to check out other sites less snow frendly
  15. If you not already got this link then have a look at this f1f looking from the top http://panocam.skiline.cc/lauberhorn from http://www.jungfrau.ch/en/tourism/travel-information/webcams/winter-webcams/ you can also click on hot shots to look down at 6700ft kleine scheidegg in clear weather. more snow coming http://www.yr.no/place/Switzerland/Bern/Kleine_Scheidegg~2660145/
  16. no winter Svalbard wonderland.. but its a start anyone ever done a little lamp post watching! and here is latest picture of the bigger picture
  17. update.. pretty much nailed on now and more snow shown than before ...if u like that sort of thing.
  18. Ben Nevis snow gets brought forward a day to sunday 15th ...nice trend! http://www.yr.no/place/United_Kingdom/Scotland/Ben_Nevis/long.html
  19. hope it puts on a good show on before dark http://www.yr.no/place/Norway/Svalbard/Longyearbyen/hour_by_hour.html
  20. This also could wet the appetite for the up coming cold seasion for a few viewers... Potential for a little winter taster/sample on wed/thurs http://www.webcams.travel/webcam/1344236497-Weather-Norilsk-Noril%27sk Bit warm I know
  21. I noticed it on friday and saved this image shame that its not as impressive as last year. Big drop for the snow line over ten hours August 22-23 last year snow forecast for tuesday http://www.yr.no/place/Norway/Svalbard/Longyearbyen/ and my eyes on the prize for your russian mention perhaps something will turn up soon on http://www.camscape.com/Asia/Russia/Norilsk-city-33417.php But its still very early season for snow watching even the ice has not finished downward tread http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/charctic-interactive-sea-ice-graph/ so maybe a month before I start thinking the north pole should be more sharing!
  22. One less white dot than shown on the 16th Aug 2013 shown here but no worrys IBTH , Earliest decent Scandi kick off that I've found from a quick search is from 2010 about three weeks later than were we are now
  23. Its in the wrong Month and in the wrong place to mean much, but all the same thats a decent dump of snow!
