  1. Got some windscreen wash today thank goodness its good for -60! The engine will be a block of ice but the view will be still good!
  2. steady increase of snow cover for Turkey and Japan Two pixels of blue positive snow amount comes back to scandi ...watch this space! How the ice is doing Nice example of a slide to the cooler temps http://www.yr.no/pla...msø/long.html and a place showing the current warmth being the highest it will be for a while and equal to a 35 year daily high http://weather.glads...rmation〈=en
  3. Could do with the negative Scandinavia/western Russia snow anomaly going soon, its been around for nearly two weeks and the ice is bottom of the class in the ice charts, but can't grumble Scotland has got a snow pixel and there is formula one charts (FI) to dream into the reliable!
  4. No great change slightly less snow in China and more gets to japan http://www.vill.haku...camera.php?id=6
  5. nice one it's looking good in china http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=pctGg4-wkvgright at the end its a case of not ''sorry your school is closed for health and safety reasons'' but ''during your school lunch break we have a little job for u!'' looks like the snowman season has started there too http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/90882/8021588.html
  6. put a group of images into here ice day http://www.myspacegens.com/handler.php?gen=animatedimage&p=view
  7. This is the sort of post I'm looking for on here thanks for that, keep them coming and any other advanced member interested in the title of this thread please lets hear your thoughts
  8. just add my bit to thatanimation of last 3 days more snow would be welcome Still more blues than reds , looks like we will have to wait for winter for blues in the uk
  9. looks very close but I would if given the choice go for this year for the slight edge on snow cover and potential weather.
  10. How do you see a ideal progression from were we are now till it looked very impressive? Gtltw
  11. they are predicting a better winter and starting to see a good build up to that but like you say it does not work like that because good snow cover now does not make it likely to be a 'Brutal one' hope they still get a 'proper one'
  12. The weather is more easy to predict over there and they had a bad winter last year so the ski industry must be rubbing their hands together this time round , good luck to them will be checking the webcams and news if it goes pear shaped over here.We seems to have more ups and downs as we are more marginal for snow, but that makes it all the more special when it does turn up. Even 2010 seemed to have room for improvement because the weather warmed up in the late winter so still holding out for a 'proper winter!' Good webcams include this one was just a normal road about three or four weeks ago. http://www.skjolden....i/webkamera.htm Good to see the general progress of snow in the Northern Hemisphere and today's prize goes to China adding an area the size of Spain to the snow cover. Nearer us on the globe the snow does a south push, bit like 2011! Still more snow cover positive rather than negative generally
  13. Google tells me hodson bay is in the centre of Ireland so I guess not! November 11 2012 and 2011 to compare
  14. It's a bit of a shame not keeping up with 2010 for snow levels in Scandinavia, in the hope that it would help as it did then with importing snow. But each year changes to keep the interest up and if things go the right way there be plenty to look out for by this time next month. So heads down and lots of chart checking
  15. So good then for a slightly bigger picture of potential snow. (In the hope it heads our way)
  16. seems to relate to the 4th Nov storm http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/china-news/blizzard-freezes-beijing-before-congress-311457.htmlnot relating to current weather http://www.yr.no/place/China/Beijing/Beijing/ so the snow will have melted
  17. still waiting for 2010 to overtake the present not long now I guess
  18. latest look at the snow and ice animation Some snow returns to Scandinavia and I am liking the 2010 style angle of the snow towards Norway. Will be great watching the snow make its way west towards the end of the month. Ice seems to stay the same which is a shame.
  19. Looking at what you are saying it looks to me like a very cold winter month can bring a winters overall CET into the range of the lowest recorded and getting just one months setup up right Dec 2010 can give one of the snowiest winterswe are not asking a lot of the weather to come up with some interesting records this winter in my mind.
  20. There is a weak correlation between winter CET and snow extent at this time of year.Does it every have a strong correlation? for example did it have by week 48 year 2010 and snow cover rank 8/46?
  21. here's another angle on the snow and ice, always hoping for more! I guess we may have to wait to winter for it but no worry's its got potential.
