  1. Every year I promise myself I will not get OCD with weather sites at the first sniff of snow, but here I go again, hunting down the tiniest snow symbol! Yes, I suspect it will have turned itself into a rain drop by morning eh?
  2. What site was that on Snowsie? (Like to have my hopes raised, keeps me entertained - lol)
  3. Phew. Think that's it for a while now, better try and get some sleep as I've got to be up in 4 hours - grrr Have fun all x
  4. you can guess what I nearly wrote there - thanks forum swear moderating thingy!
  5. Yup, the light show is truly beginning....
  6. Lol - not too bad dear chap..... Yourself? Looking at lightningmaps.org, we have our storm shield fully in place at the moment, but I can hear the distant rumbles now (decided to turn the fan off and put up with being too hot), so fingers crossed it will succumb. Love a good storm, almost as much as snow....
  7. Morning Bish! Did I just hear a rumble then...? (Can't hear over the fan - too hot to turn it off!) Fizz
  8. Looks like we've had a bit of a snow shower, which I managed to miss, but nothing to get excited about. Still, makes a change from drizzle
  9. Hmm, just a couple of soggy flurries through here so far. Wonder if we'll get your weather next Gord?
  10. Well you're a little ray of sunshine aren't you? For what it's worth, my daughters birthday is on the 21st March, and there has frequently been snow at that time. So, I'll keep my hopes alive if that's alright with you - apologies if you get infected by them.
  11. Well, you never know...... (Even if it is the GFS!)
  12. Although it did bring power lines down, it was thunder snow that evening. I was a young scout leader at the time, and we had taken the scouts out on a Night Hike in Sutton Park (so you can tell it wasn't forecast!). We sent them all off in patrols to do the route at about 11pm, and within an hour the we started to see lightening on the horizon, followed very quickly by snow starting to fall. Within 30 minutes it was so torrential we were driving round Sutton park like mad things trying to round up all these kids in the dark! The plan for the evening was that they were all supposed to sleep at the church hall on our return, but we drove them all home, banging on doors at 1 in the morning to wake their parents up because we could tell we weren't going to be able to get them home in the morning. When I did get up later that morning the snow had drifted so high up my front door there was a wall of it when you opened the door! Quite a night!
  13. A few micro flakes falling here - but so few you have to be standing outside to notice them!
  14. Do you mean December 1990? This was my house in Coventry....
  15. You can get tablets for that you know.....
  16. Geez, you turn your back for half an hour to find you've missed what must have been a lovely intense snowfall. Grump. Grump.
  17. 9.30 & 10.30pm on my forecast radar....
  18. Darn - missed it. I saw on TV once, the explanation as to why the old 'red sky in the morning, shepherds warning' saying was actually scientifically accurate. Which would be weird for today as I'm forecast for a day of non-weather really? And, as predicted, my Tuesday MetO snowflakes have disappeared as quickly as they arrived! Quelle surprise!
  19. Oo-er... I have some MetO snowflakes for Tuesday (including a double for 3am!) They'll be gone again by tomorrow morning, but just enjoying the moment whilst it lasts!
  20. Ooh - we're having a little flurry!
