  2. Happy New Year! I'm just chilling and eating sliced filled baguette, waiting for Southernman to come back from work. Finding some of the posts about a potential cold second half of January very interesting.
  3. Rain causing problems, Southernman aquaplaned and ended up in a ditch this afternoon, he wasn't hurt.

  6. Can anyone in the Great Yarmouth area confirm whether there was some sort of hail storm very early this morning? I heard something hitting the window but i felt really ill otherwise i would have got up look.
  7. Yes, RIP, Southernman is quite upset as he only lived just down the road from him in earlier times and often had tea with him and a chat.(he would invite people from the village every so often)

  11. i've rarely seen snow like this so i'm happy my baby bird (6 weeks old) is sitting on the windowsill looking into the sky and following the flakes falling.Sweet.

  13. haha I was wrong, snowing in medium way now.very wet so i doubt it will settle
  14. what colour sky does snow fall from? would it be pale clouds? very dark here so I'm presuming these are rain clouds.
  15. I was living away from home but my mother told me she walked in the snow thigh high across Priory Park to work at what was Access. That was the winter that Victoria Avenue turned into an ice sheet and mother slid across the crossing by the park gates on her bottom and was nearly crushed by a lorry.
  16. i just chuck a bucket of tepid water on it then use windscreen wipers if anyone tries this ONLY use tepid water, hot water will crack your windscreen.
  17. the main thing i have stocked is packet soup, four for a quid in most supermarkets, and powdered milk so can still have a cuppa.plus pet food.
  18. some could find candles dangerous so i have stocked up with torches and batteries from the poundshop.and a little battery radio, only gets the local feed but that's all that's needed.
