  1. Really disappointed that the short range model thread is about as popular as Boris Johnson. If I was even slightly knowledgeable I'd post in there, but it seems that most people are only focused on finding the holy grail post 144hrs. Such a shame.
  2. I know I say this every year, and I know the answer. But, I wish we had a short range (0-144hr) model thread that people actually contributed to. Really hate the day 10 snow chase. It takes up the whole thread in which nobody really focuses on the reliable.
  3. Both BBC and Met weather apps giving my area sleet at most and max winds at 18mph. Surely we can get better than that!? Are we really not getting anything out of this weekend?
  4. I'm actually cheesed off that we're not even in a yellow warning area for anything. The extremes are what I'm in this for. Never get them in the SE!
  5. Anything happening in our neck of the woods tomorrow? Seems like all the fun and games, wind and snow, miss out on the far south east.
  6. I'm in my tenth year on these forums, and have learnt my lesson on chasing 10 day dream charts. I'm only interested in the 0 to 144hrs now, so pay very little interest in most of the model thread discussion. If anything in the reliable shows any interest then I'll maybe start showing some excitement. Even then, I won't get too carried away until it's in the 24 to 72hr range.
  7. Lovely charts being posted in the MOD thread. But, I won't be getting excited until these charts are within 72hrs. Until then, it's still just eye candy.
  8. Yeah, he is a miss at this time of year. I do understand that some would rather he stayed away though. Forum's a poorer place with his absence.
  9. Best time of the year. Atmospheric, peaceful and cosy. Just need some fog or even snow and it would be perfect!
  10. I'm well aware of the title of the thread thank you, hense the reason I posted my "moan" In here. However, I don't see where in my original post I mentioned the moan thread. Maybe that's because I was commenting on the forum in general!
  11. Wow, after reading a few threads I feel like I've just been to a funeral! So much negativity and we've only just passed the middle of October. Wake me up when you've all popped a prozac!
  12. Unfortunately we have absolutely no control over what happens. If it's a mild one, then it would have saved us from a whole load of issues due to the current gas shortage. If it's a cold one, well, we'll just have to muck through it!
  13. Wouldn't bother me. By that time of year I'm looking forward to Spring and the extended daylight hours.
  14. All this talk (every year) of staying on BST all year and we never seem to have an agreement. Seems to me that we should just leave it well alone and continue as we are. Not that it affects me anyway. I work nights, so as soon as the clock goes back, I spend days on end without seeing more than an hour of daylight! Not that I'm complaining, I love it.
  15. That's me convinced, another record breaking cold Winter coming up. Off to buy a sledge as we speak!
  16. Looks like Autumn's been put on hold in my area. Cold front went through, temperature dropped and then seemed to recover again this afternoon! Sun's out and it's still warm!
  17. There's no "balancing it out" when it comes to weather. There's no grand old lady sitting in the clouds thinking "you know what, they've had it too good this month. Let's chuck a few storms their way to balance it out". That's not how the climate works.
  18. For those who are interested, Gavs third Winter update is available. Very interesting indeed. Especially in regards to zonal winds for Autumn/Winter.
  19. 7.30 and its nearly dark. I do love this time of year. The dark evenings, hopefully with some frost and fog thrown in. It really is a magical time of year. (Not for everyone, I know) Edit: 500th post! Taken me nearly 10 years on the forum!
  20. Now if the ecm and ukmo were showing a raging Easterly in the depths of Winter at 96hrs and the gfs was showing a south westerly, which one would you have you're money on?
  21. I wouldn't worry too much about what Gav said. We're very much in uncharted territory with this Septs CET which could end up much higher than the analogues that Gav was using in his vids. Who knows what might happen if the CET ands up above 17c.
