    Still hearing BOOMS of thunder. My blitzortung app on my phone is constantly alerting me of strikes in the area. A lot to the east of Bristol. And fresh strikes occurring around Newport.

    Still hearing faint rumbles in the distance, apart from the one thats going on now which was a tad louder. CB's are towering to my south south west.

    Suns back out here. Had only light shower from the edge of the cell to the north but some decent rumbles agmonst it.

    Another nice rumble. Slowly getting darker here. And another! Nice long one that. I make that another. lol.... Some stikes in Southern Bristol now. 7 rumbles so far!

    I might be lucky enough to catch something, maybe. Skies are so black to the north and seem to be edging near me. Could be my first storm for years!

    Had one hefty downpour here about an 30mins ago. Sun is out and convection is initiating.

    Was just looking out the window and I swear I just saw a flash of lightning. I've got a blocked view but the sky flashed infront of me. Didnt hear thunder though.

    Light rain and thats all. Has now stopped actually. Attached chart looks good for the early part of tomorrow afternoon in this area. Would be nice to see some lightning after missing the last 2 weeks weather here.

    Incredible line of CB's possibly stetching from around Wales area all the way across my house. A spectacular site!

    Big let down today here in Bristol. May catch something on the way to London tomorrow but after that it's Sweden for 2 weeks. Ttfn all and good luck for the next few weeks.

    Just a couple of shots from today whilst racing back from the Stroud area to Almondsbury this evening after hearing about lightning in the area. Nothing too spectacular but the clouds looked creepy on the way there. Please excuse the blurry ones.

    No way AWD, me and the mrs went up to Frocester, Wotton-under-edge and Stinchcombe, and yes it was a big mistake. Thankfully my dad phoned me asking if I was chasing as he was picking my brother up from Cribbs and said there was thunder and lightning to the north. We jumped into the car and made our way back. Very lucky. Tomorrow looks nice!

    Was sat at Almondsbury interchange a short while ago in torrential rain with thunder and lightning. Incredible rain! Haven't seen anything like it for some time. But not to forget I have now seen lightning and heard thunder for the 1st time in years! What is also amazing that just 2 miles from the A38 where I live, it is completely bone dry. Just got back to have some fish n chips and now contemplating going out again! What do you reckon AWD?

    I've got to say, I hope it doesn't happen. Only because I am out of the country for 2 weeks from Tuesday! Sorry for my selfishness.

    I need a storm this weekend more than anything. I am hoping to get some cracking timelapse footage of building clouds and such. All the West Country Crew I am thinking, as things stand, Cirencester Sunday? Maybe the viewpoint?
