So it was worth the drive up from dustville (Ashtead) to Narnia (Box Hill!)!!! Me and my brother @Chertseystreamer79 both reliving our childhoods growing up here in the 80s winters and now with our own children!!!

Reckon you're right there KW, it'll look awesome... You'll be able to clearly see the snow line as well....Not sure what the a25 will be like.... But the lane outside our house is clear and doesn't get much use early on a Saturday morning.
That's my worry, getting there ok.... it's a half hour drive from here so not sure! We had heavy sleet all evening so I'm hoping that fell as snow up Box Hill!!xx

Yeah it never got particularly heavy for us. Nothing of any note - just a basic dusting really.
Couldnt seem to get far enough away from the dry, clear slot. Imagine if that meso low was just 15 miles further east... we’d have been pummelled!
I know! We were literally just a smidge too far East! Polesden Lacey is closed today due to heavy snow and ice!! 20min drive west of here!x

No, that wasn't true, just a nasty rumour started by someone. The people in the car under the tree were absolutely fine, just shaken.
Glad to hear it!!! Thanks for letting me know!!xx

Can hear significant melt here and several roads still closed due to fallen trees. What a night!
My sister in law lives in Walderslade and is moaning because she hates snow but she did tell me a Mum and baby have been killed in their car due to a fallen tree?! Assume heavy weight of snow?

@Mark wheelerIn answer to your question, heavy sleety rainy stuff here at the moment, not pleasant!
Yep, apparently I've been under pink ppn and have a double snow symbol on Meto app for about 2hrs now but nothing other than very heavy sleet!!! Temp currently 0.7c so has dropped a bit but not changed. North Surrey has missed out big time this time around. I'm going to attempt Boxhill again tomorrow morning in the hope of something more up there x

I'm under a pink blob on the radar, Meto is giving me heavy snow symbols for 2hrs but just very heavy wet sleety snow atm..... I'm not expecting much and tbh, after last night I'm knackered so cba to keep getting up to check, lol!!!xx

This Basingstoke trip...will there be crisps?
Yes and hot chocolate or Champaign if you want to celebrate finally seeing decent snow and play find the cork in the drift!!!

I don't know if I've got the energy for another night of this!!!
Anyway, I'm organising a Netweather SE Regional Thread coach trip to Basingstoke tomorrow, £25 a head, includes a pile of snow each to make one medium snowman and throw 20 snowballs!!!xx

Very disappointing in this area for longevity. The snow came, then it went, then it came back better with more flakes and by 2am when I looked out the window nice thick snow scapes greeted me across the rooftops. Awaking at 7am, much of the snow on the rooftops had gone and the roads and pavements were clear, leaving me just to get the snow off the car. Son is very unimpressed that Nescot College in Epsom was open and it wasn't to be a snow day after all. There was enough snow left in Nonsuch Park to make it look seasonal at least, I'll post a pic later. Trying to be positive that I have cleared the car of snow twice in two weeks, driven in snow and walked the dog in nice falling flakes as the roads and pavements covered. But also thinking of how close we came to something more memorable. And it's raining!
I feel your pain Reef!!! Absolutley abysmal event for us.... I'm gutted.... not sure if Epsom Downs has more or Box Hill, may take a drive tomorrow but I can't be bothered today, feeling too meh about it all, lol!xx

What an exhausting 3mths it's been, chasing cold and snow since November.... it started a lot earlier this season and has had soooo much promise and chances but alas, nothing much has come from it at all for me in Ashtead Surrey. I'm thinking I might need some downtime now to relax in some early Spring warmth, lol!!!

Meto still has me (Ashtead Surrey) down for heavy snow between now and midday but looking at the radar I cannot see where that's going to come from?! Temp 1.4c and trending up, 93% humidity x

Barely anything here in Ashtead Surrey..... not much more than when I went to bed at 12.30 last night even though I was forecast to have another 4hrs of heavy snow!!! Looks very damp out there and thawing already..... such a let down after all the hype

I'm in Ashtead and have also been confused but I *think* the ppn out off the coast of Kent is being blown back in over us on the Easterly wind!!

Do you think it's the easterly wind that's going to blow this back across us to give heavy snow through the night, as per my forecast for Ashtead Surrey?!

Good covering here in Ashtead Surrey but looks like the hole is about to be over me for a bit but then the heavy stuff from 11pm to 4am!!! AAAANNNNNDDDD........
Light snow then through to 1pm tomorrow???!!! Was supposed to fizzle out at 7am??!! Sleety/Rain after that though which would be a shame!!

Snowing in Ashtead Surrey! I'm wondering if potential accumulations are less due to the fact it's blowing about out there? I remember last year we had less on the ground as the wind meant it just blew about all over the place and not falling straight down. Mind you, forecast to be heavy snow from about 11pm to 4am so that might help it!!!

A Polite Reminder
With the upcoming event and plenty of observations taking place please put your Location in with the posts so that people using phones and tablets can see the location because the cannot see your profile or signature.
Boxley (Maidstone)
Agreed!!! Location used to show on phones and it's such a pain that it doesn't anymore so all I see is what's happening here, here and here, lol!!! (Ashtead!)
