  1. I think Sunday-Tuesday looks quite on the cool side, whilst Wednesday and Thursday goes back to mild before back again. Quite pleasant seeing maxima 5c on the forecasts after all that mild weather.
  2. Quite frankly, I can't sleep when the temperature rises overnight
  3. temperature has not rose above 7c all day here and now rose to 8c which annoys me as I wanted to have a lowest maximum of 7c secured on wunderground
  4. Is anyone hoping for some wintry surprises the coming Spring? Personally I never really noticed we had as much and will be looking out
  5. That's some good ideas presented by Mark Vogan. Good thing is he is very confident and doesn't have a go at people who disagree with him, unlike James Madden who will call you a "sheep".
  6. When I was walking home from college it felt very cold indeed. Was very surprised when I logged on and the temperature was apparently 7C. Felt much cooler than that.
  7. Ground frost here but its 2c and didn't even get below that overnight!
  8. 4c expected to drop to 1c overnight. Tomorrow looks like a pretty cold day! (well colder than recently).
  9. True about us being spoilt! Although I was very surprised at the contrast between other forecasts such as Mr Rampling's, with TWO predicting February as the mildest month.
  10. If their forecast is right, even if it does have a small bias to colder than average, it will be a disappointment for many people like us on here.
  11. I think if we put AWT's forecast detailing the severity of snow and cold with Mr Rampling's forecast which has the scientific analysis we got ourselves a good forecast.
  12. Huh. I don't like that forecast at all. No scientific aspects discussed whatsoever. Little detail.
  13. They usually post their daily updates at 10PMish, so maybe that's when it will be up?
  14. To be honest, I disagree that the two forecasts fit as AWT's snow and cold comes after mid-January whilst the worst ends at that point in Vogan's. No disrespect to either guys though. Yeah, I think a lot of people think last winter was extremely cold throughout, remembering the cold December and forgetting mild February.
  15. Well January and ultimately February pulled up last winters CET.
  16. Nice job AWT. Pretty much the same expectancy of Rampling's forecast but good focus on description of the cold and snow likely in January-February. Now we have a good forecast from Rampling describing the scientific aspects and a description of the cold and snow by you! And again we are looking at a reverse of last winter- the start being the mildest and end being the coldest. Plus, I think these sort of forecasts do tell us we may have a month as cold as last December in February (a lot of people are saying 'while it may be a bit on the cold side, we won't be getting a month like December 2010 this winter'.
  17. To the people who only put the heating on in the morning and evening: what happens if the temperature rises in the evening, often when the next day is going to be milder?
  18. It sure is rubbish. I remember one day when it was foggy and it didn't look like the temperature was going to rise above 7C, but then in the evening it only went and got up to 10C. Read my signature lol. Also, over the last few days, has anyone felt like the snow and cold which was happening this time last year seem like a long lost memory as it's been so mild as of late?
  19. Yeah the month started off at like 15C, then I do believe it got a bit cooler mid-month averaging 10C with a couple of days staying in single figures, although it has recently managed to climb back up to 12 or 13C And according to wunderground the lowest daily high for my city in November is 8C! Each November should get a day where it doesn't get over about 5C!
  20. To be honest, most April's bring at least one overnight dusting during the month. For me at least. -My grandmother remembers some significant snowfall between the 10th and 15th of April 1998. -For me, April 10th 2003 and April 8th 2005 brought some snowfall notably not exclusive to nighttime. -April 9th 2006 although this was rather on the sleet side. -Late March 2010 and running onto 1st of April brought some snowfall, which was particularly bad in Scotland. For me it was rather confined to overnight and again on the sleet side. -And of course 6th April 2008. Can someone provide a link to the topic which talks about March replacing December, etc? I would be interested to see it.
  21. I think the wind was 30mph+ and the temperature 12C then with heavy rain. Now its cooled down to 10C, winds down slightly to 28mph and it's only light drizzle now.
