I love lovely warm summer days, but when it gets to 32C+ and 22C at night I find it horrific.
I will trade an extreme hot couple of weeks of lovely sun, for a comfortable couple of cloudy or even rainy weeks.
My 84 year old mum agrees with me lol

Last couple of weeks been a bit dull, but I am SO grateful we havnt got 30c+ temps and hot sticky nights. There is a god!!

Weather looking miserable for the next week or so, only good thing is we need the rain. Bring back the glorious sunshine its keeping me from needing a padded cell during this lockdown BS

Yesterday was literally the perfect summer day in London. Unbroken sunshine, lovely and warm but not too hot, a gentle cooling breeze, and at bedtime lovely and fresh so you get a good nights sleep.

Im sure this has been posted many times before but I find it fascinating. (average lightning strikes per 20k worldwide chart 2012-2016) We get robbed of nearly all decent winter weather compared to most of Europe despite our northerly latitude due to proximity to the Atlantic ocean and jet stream, and robbed of storms compared to most of Europe due to our proximity to the Atlantic ocean and northerly latitude.
On the flip side we dont suffer extreme cold or heat events which are dangerous and financially costly.

Looking like summer weather is here to stay for quite a while. Great news as with lockdowns easing, this is the best weather to help kill the virus!

Huge crack of thunder here, scared the cr@p out of me as not heard any distant approaching rumbles, and didnt even realise it was raining outside lol

Literally the worst 3 months of weather ever. Wet, wet wet, dull dull dull, horrible horrible horrible. And all those poor people flooded out of their homes, absolutely terrible.

It actually felt sort of almost wintery today, cool with a brisk windchill. Still only needed a t-shirt and light coat, but a week ago I was walking to the gym in just a t-shirt, in mid winter lol

One thing weatherwise worse than a horrid mild winter, is having your roof blown off as well. Looking a next weeks charts this seems a real risk!
-
If this is global warming, accelerating on a much faster scale than scientists think, we are doomed within a few short years!

And even better, your roof will get blown off so you won't even need to go outside to experience the blizzard. Mean winds verging on Cat 2 hurricane strength just a stones throw from Cornwall 6 hours earlier:
Just spat my coffee all over my keyboard, too funny!! God help Cornwall if that verifies!!

Oh mate, you are selling Slovakia to me.
My partner is from Latvia, and while it’s a completely different region, they also enjoy woodland hikes and skiing, although it’s quite flat. They get plenty of snow usually, but 2019/20 has been snowless so far there.
Ireland is nice, but it has way too much rain for my liking, and while it has lovely countryside, I find The Lakes region in England just as nice, although weather can be poor also.
Oh I would move there in a heartbeat, living in a crappy part of London is no fun, and it was so refreshing to see genuinely polite, lovely and friendly people wherever I went to Bratislava.

Such a boring, horrible winterless winter this is becoming.

Not been to Bratislava in about 25 years, nice place. But did you say you were robbed there in an earlier post?
Robbed of seeing snow lol

You should have told me you were coming.
It's been snowing here since about 4pm today but there's only 1-2cm so far because the flakes are light. It will be interesting to see if it can keep sticking tomorrow because it's supposed to last all day.
Also interesting to see only Bratislava in Slovakia under a snow warning. Don't see that very often.
Sorry for the late reply, cant believe I missed 2 cm of snow by hours!! Anyway what a fantastic city you live in, feels totally safe, the people are lovely and no gangsters anywhere. I dont know why I still live in London, the total opposite!!

I can report seeing snow yesterday!!! That was in Bratislava though . I was even robbed there, was there all week it starts snowing as im boarding my flight home lol

Yeah, more dire output today, but in this country the weather can and does change course rapidly sometimes, defying all the weather computers. Admittedly its normally in the form of failed easterlies 5 days out, but theres always a chance of sudden totally unexpected cold showing up in the 5-7 day timeframe!

That chart is horrific, one of the worst I have ever seen on here in 15 years!

I have nothing but pure hatred for that mob of criminals.
I do believe climate chance is real, but I dont believe in disrupting other peoples lives and livelihoods the way this lot go about sending their "message"
Whatever we do in this country (And compared to a most countries we do a lot) it wont make the slightest bit of difference whilst China etc dont do the same.

Why do these lovely winter charts show up a week after summer and not early Jan lol!
