If only the weather was 288 hours behind the models we would be constantly buried in snowdrifts lol

I have been watching every post over the last few weeks with avid interest. Im an out and out coldie, but also my income depends on footie and rugby pitches being playable. But if push comes to shove I would take a month of zero games for a big freeze up. I thought we were on the cusp of that this morning, cant believe its gone pete tong . :(

I live and work close to the land (Being on the ground floor ) and what that other poster wrote is totally factually incorrect, nothing short of fake news!. As someone close to the land, ive seen snow in March being the 1st of winter. When was that you ask, oh yeah, this March gone

I cant find the hunt for cold thread, ive enjoyed reading that several times a day? Has it been culled?

Hunting for cold in early November is like putting up your Xmas tree. Too early!!!
-
In Kilburn NW London best I can remember is about 6 inches, but back in Jan 1987 in the Isle of Sheppy, Kent where my Nan lived, it was up to my head 6ft of level snow.

Nice to have lots of sunshine, but it was just too hot at times for me. Still overall better than our average dross summers!

Overall we had an amazing summer, a bit too amazing for me at times I will admit. (Had to buy an AC unit to avoid melting lol)
If we get a nice "Indian summer" that will be the icing on the cake for heat fans surely!

If I could bottle up today, and release it every day from June 1st until Sept 30th I would. Perfect summer day, sunny, warm, some wind in the hair, and no extremes!!

Lovely to get some proper rain today in the SE. Very much needed!

As the days go by the return to any prolonged heat looks less and less likely. Starting to shape up to be a much more bearable pleasant month than the previous 2 in this long Summer!
That sounds perfect. I love fine summer weather, but not extreme heat where you cant go out, can do anything and cant sleep at night. A couple of fine weeks with temps 25-28c max would be lovely.

Please god keep temps to 30c or less for the rest of summer, we have had a heatwave for 60 days in London, Im genuinely surprised and grateful its not killed off my elderly and frail mum!
I love summer, sun and fine weather, but a humid 35c is no fun and dangerous!

Hideously hot today out, I love a nice sunny day but why would anyone possibly wish for this sort of insane heat, you cant enjoy it, cant do anything in it, and cant sleep at night in it.

Its all very well people wanting 40c+ to hit the UK on the model forum, but do they realise that will literally kill many elderly and vulnerable people?
What we need after this very dry spell is rain, and cooler temps, and we need them badly!

Ive finally caved in an bought a portable AC unit. Not only am I baking every day, I live with my elderly 82 yr old mum who is really struggling in this heat.
I love fine sunny hot weather, but this is crazy!

I was getting worried as the clouds started rotating over my house, thought we were going to have a tornado direct hit.
I noticed that too, what an amazing day. Thunder and lightning now really going on!!

Torrential rain and 1st rumble of thunder. This storm has literally formed in NW London, in the last 30 mins out of nothing. Mother nature is amazing !!

Wow just had 2 hours of torrential rain. Must be amounst the only area in the whole of the UK to get rain today, and enough to cause drains to block!!

Wow just had the best thunderstorm I have ever seen in all my 48 years, 90 minutes of flashes literally every second or so. I will never complain about being storm starved ever again!!

All I would like is a decent cold snap or 2 in winter, and between May - Sept, 2 or 3 nice warm spells but nothing too extreme (Except the storms)
