Black as night over Wrexham atm but no thunder heard yet. My detector says lightning 8 miles away!
Looks like the storm is over Johnstown way

Its suddenly going quite dark here. Could something be brewing
-
Its all hitting a brick wall at the end of the Wirral and fading away.

I saw that but I wondered if it was actually lightning in reality. as the nearest strike came up as near Prenton and Newton near West Kirby. There was some thunder around yesterday. But yes on the west side of Wirral weve generally not been so lucky in terms of overhead storms. Maybe it will change tonight. It's currently 20C with a dewpoint of 15C
The ingredients are there so here's hoping those storms hold together.

Evening Stephen ,
I thought our best chance would be this evening as the sea breeze dies down. Still 22c here at the moment. We must have been a touch luckier than you on this side of the Wirral as we've had a couple of overhead storms including the epic one on Saturday. Yesterday's storm struck a house in Thingwall setting the roof on fire.

No I didn’t know that. That was a beast of a strike. Would not like to be in that house. An ordinary CG would be bad enough.
Set the roof on fire unfortunately. There were pictures of the strike and the aftermath on social media this morning.

I think things will kick off soon in NW in England. Suddenly feels right. Also if WRF is right it is around this time the sea-breeze should dissipate and veer round to the nne.
Temperatures are still high too. Watching the showers developing over cheshire at the moment. Did you see that the positive cg in yesterdays storm struck a house in Thingwall

Cell formed in literally 15 mins. Could be an interesting evening after all.

Looks like the storm has done the same as the one on Saturday (only a few hours earlier) Formed over Stoke, then intensified as it moved away
Lets hope it continues up along the Wirral as on Saturday night

The sea breeze is shredding any convection to bits on the Wirral today. I suppose it was a little greedy to expect three thunder days in a row

A storm not far away from me. Still don’t think it will reach here because of the sea-breeze although it doesn’t seem to be having much affect on the temps 21.0°C.
The storms are definitely edging towards your area.

Very quick developments around here. Just heard thunder to the south. And again. Second consecutive thunder day. Very rare around here. Sounds over new Brighton way.
About 8 more rumbles since I started typing this. Getting really frequent now.
It's just over the sea Chris heading your way

I think there is another cell coming up ahead
That storm was an absolute belter. Had a clear view of the positive strike from here. Not sure if I captured it on video

Looks quite well organised from this side of the Wirral.
