Despite the radar showing green echoes, there is nothing here at the moment, I suggest it's either evaporating before reaches ground or there's some mobile anaprop happening
Nothing here either Stephen. Temps are falling back now although dew point is still rather marginal. Went fishing in anglesey yesterday and the Snowdon range was spectacular in all it's winter glory.
Coming back last night the temps were interesting -3 in Anglesey , -1 At home and 0c through parts of North Wales under clear sky and with snow cover !!!
Edit :- The odd light grain now blowing in the wind. Inland ares of the NorthWest will have nothing to fear - It will be snow
-
We now have a covering of 4.5cm's in under two hours and that is on the coast. Only light snow now but hopefully more to come.
-
It is just me or did anyone see a flash of lightning then?
Are you trying to set up a storm chase !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Just watching the news and it's still about London and the east.
-
Time to Walk the dog in Vale Park and then a stroll alongthe prom.
Don't lose the dog in the snow !!!
-
Massive flakes of snow in New Brighton really impressive.
Not seen snow like this for years !!!
-

Oh are you gettin the BBQ out, might pop over for a few burgers, its -2.4oC here
The burgers are on and the tinnies are ready. Deck chairs at the ready for a spot of lampost watching
-
The snow is still melting when it hits the ground here, rather bizarre, its 0.4C at the moment
Very strange that Stephen. Here we still have snow on the shed and car from five o'clock- (Only a tiny dusting) but it hasn't melted. Perhaps the people of Heswall need to insulate their homes better to stop the heat escaping !!!
-
Shaun how are you matey? Looking forward to more storm chasing in the summer (providing we get any!)
Was it just quick push through of the snow shown by the N24 forecast?
I think everyone from Wirral will be heading to Poll Hill and Thurstaston Hill
I am fine mate. Will look forward to the storm chasing soon but this could be a very special few weeks. Looked like the snow was forecast for a good few hours but just going to check the forecast again. Back in a few minutes.
-
Hi there, was more like polystyrene than snow, just a dusting on the car, i agree, not looking good for us on the coast, looks like it will be missing us on the forecast maps, never mind, being a train driver no doubt my trips over to east lancs will at least let me see some snow cover.
Latest BBc news 24 forecast has said the snow will reach us in the NW before moving into Scotland and Northern Ireland. East of the pennines could get serious snowfall .

Snow just starting to fall again here now
Same here in Wallasey. Flurries whistling past the lampost in the wind.

Are there any links for upto the minute info as we have friends who arrived in Jamaica on Thurs but who cannot be evacuated so they have been told to stay in the rooms and baracade themselves in with the matresses. :o

YEA Jane last time I checked....If we loose power as well how depressing
I will get so fed up when the water goes and if the electrics go. candles
ps beka you make me lol..in a nice way
at the moment it looks though there is a possibility it will be you JANE(electrics not here at the moment I think,,,only water
though saying thAT ,THE SUPPLY does a large part of glos as well
Jane...get some batteries for your radio just in case I have.....
Could be the last cooked meal tonight
I dont fancy walking to collect water
Jane you must boil your water
My great aunt is visiting from Australia and last Tuesday went to Gloucester to stay with her brother.
They were out to lunch on Friday when the water came through the pub restuarant and had to abandon the car in two foot of water and walk home ( She is a sprightly 82). The water at present has reached the car port but not the house and they are storing saucepans of water.
Will post more if she phones again.
Keep safe all.

The rain band appears to have intensified again according to the latest radar.
Sorry to anyone who has been flooded and fingers crossed for any near those rising rivers.
-
Yep, of course cash for questions is so much more important than millions of pounds of damages.............not, thousands of homes wrecked <_<
Strangely we haven't had a drop of rain at all down here.......possibly the first time in ages
Thats good news as I'm coming back to my beloved Devon (Exmouth) next week.
-
non event here in London - appears there was lots of media overhype especitally for this area.
someone in the office reported flooding in Horsham though.
Just because your own area is not badly affected you just need to read the reports and look at the radar to see that this is becoming quite an exceptional event and that the Media have played this absolutley spot on.
-
In fairness to the early warnings issued they have called this event spot on. Lets just hope there is no serious flooding particularly to homes and businesses.

Hi i am sat in my garden facing south-ish have put in my postcode on NW radar (L31) and if im lucky i am in line with this thunder activity, what do you reckon
If it doesn't dissapate we should see the eastern side of the cell.I keep toying with the idea of driving to meet it as the western edge over Wales seems to be pepping up again.
-
Can you see anything to your S/E yet Emerson ? Just trying to gauge how far away it still is.
-
Eerie yellow sky and thunderstorm currently passing over.
Also rumbles of thunder earlier (around 5pm).
That was a cracking storm. Sat at New Brighton for an hour watching lightening against a backdrop of the setting sun over a mill pond of a sea.
-
wish I had a bluetooth card on my computer.....Getting some nice cloud formation pics on my mobile.....very disturbed looking sky, there's lots of outflow and it looks like someone took a giant spoon & stirred up the sky!.....havent got a cat, but the seagulls (bloomin' pests!) have stopped making their usual evening racket!
I hope for some skys like that when I come home in six weeks.nNothing better than watching a storm roll in off Lyme bay

Cannot believe your own micro climate stephen. It is proper snow here now and I must be about 60ft above sea level max.
