Just back home after my morning stroll along the beach. Clear blue skies as far as the eye can see. Wind direction has completly changed and is now a westerly. So the sea is much calmer. Temperature 0c. Latest forecast for my area is light snow flurries on Saturday night. Rain on Monday. -
I don't think we are expected to get anything from the frontal snow, ours will just be snow showers from the North Sea.

So it looks as though Lowestoft might get 2-5cm of snow over the weekend. Not very much you might think but it's still 2-5cm more than we got last year.

Just back from Ness Point the most easterly spot in the UK and it was freeeezzzzing. Here is a pic I took about twenty minutes ago.

Bitterly cold here this morning. Just back from my walk along the beach and the easterly wind chill is very unpleasant. Still lots of lovely sunshine though. Temperature is 1c with a wind chill of minus 6c. Had a few minor snow flurries up on the cliffs yesterday evening that were being blown around by 40mph winds.

Snowing again here. Not much but blowing in a gale force wind looks pretty good.

Winds are now gusting here at just over 40mph, I can here the North Sea waves crashing on the beach. So different from the total calm of yesterday. Wind chill is now minus 7c.

Just been down to the most easterly point in the UK, and it was freezing. Took this snap to show the North Sea being whipped up by the east wind, and look how cloudless that sky is. Temperature 1c and a very nasty wind chill of minus 4c. Superb clear blue skies though. Just back from an early morning walk along the beach and not a cloud in sight. North Sea is rather choppy.

Temperature here is 2.89c with a wind chill of -3.65c. Wind is gusting at around 30mph which is quite something after a very calm last few days. Still a very clear night.

Have decided to turn the heating on. It is now decidedly chilly. Sun is out though. Nasty wind chill up here on the cliffs.

Becoming quite breezy here in Lowestoft and much cloudier. Feels bitterly cold outside and I would not be at all surprised to see a few snowflakes falling soon. Looking out over the North Sea it looks quite dark and ominous.

It is now a beautiful day here in Lowestoft. Blue skies and a few fluffy white clouds. The perfect winters day. I hope you all have a lovely last day of January.

I didn't even have to scrape ice of the windscreen this morning. No frost anywhere.

According to the Met Office after this horrible murky damp day we should be in for some wall to wall sunshine from Tuesday afternoon until Friday afternoon. So cold bright and frosty. Perfect.

It looks like dusk has decided to arrive early in Lowestoft today. 13.32pm and it looks like night time.

Icy rain here on the cliffs at North Lowestoft. Temperature 3c and falling. Incredibly light winds for these parts.

A glorious sunny day here on the east coast. Heading out shortly to do a photo-shoot, the winter light is fantastic. Rather breezy though. Temperature is 10.2c.

Could someone with much greater knowledge than I tell me why as soon as one of these Models chucks out a scenario that doesn't show an imminent snowfest the model watchers once again start saying that after 144hrs things are looking much better? If we keep this in 144hrs game up we will soon be in July.
