  1. I don't think the MO will be so keen on their early warnings this time around, but it definitely looks interesting!
  2. Does anyone have any idea if this storm will coincide with high tides? Also, is there anyone brave enough that plans to video document the storms progress? (Preferably along the South coast)
  3. I managed to grab a quick shot of this on my phone. Strange formation!
  4. Potentially something Thundery heading in the Stoke direction
  5. And it looks like the charts are once again battling out the truth. The MO aren't taking any chances and have surprisingly extended the Wind warnings a lot further North.. so I guess that's something! Each output is getting more confident.. so think weekend will be an interesting one to watch!
  6. Very true! More recent models suggesting a slightly more Northern track... Lets just hope that central Low ends up somewhere between Manchester and the Borders... that would offer the Midlands something interesting
  7. Typically the West Midlands looks to be flirting between the Rain and Wind advisories.. *sigh*
  8. Here she blows! The first early warnings now issued by the MO- Monday looks pretty interesting if you're along the South folks! http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings
  9. Really? I noticed the Sow was flooded onto the plains yesterday, over by the Canal. I live fairly Central, so I missed the main punch last night.
  10. The latest GFS run has offered potential for next Monday again along with MSW. Little agreement from the ECM output however.
  11. Was hoping that we'd have some action in Stafford this evening, but it looks like the cell has died just East

    Long Exposure- Bude, Devon

A snap taken on a cold winters night along the coast of North Devon. Thursday 10th January 2012
  13. Might just be worth a little look. Seems as though the BBC are also in favour of recent Stratosphere events. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/feeds/20964928
  14. If only the timing of this system was right, we'd have had plenty of the white stuff today. Ah well, signs are strong for the coming weeks!
  15. Ah okay. I last seen it on Wednesday morning, that was pretty high! A lot of rain has been falling in the area today, with more prolonged precip overnight. I was hoping it would rise a little more, but it looks like there are finally some positives heading our way from the latest outputs.
  16. Looks like some cells bubbling up in Mid W wales, extension into the Midlands this evening. Shame I'm up in Scotland. Anyone know the state of the River Sow at the moment?
  17. Hey guys, here is that timelapse I did in Stafford on Saturday. Shame I didn't quite catch the start of it though
  18. Stafford- 3cm average. With another 3-4 more hours expected. Started at 1pm. Roads are now starting to cover up and gritters already been past twice! Moderate snow, nothing too heavy but it sure is making an imression! Been timelapsing the event since 1 so I shall have that posted in the next few hours
  19. The most recent graphics indicate an even further shift Westwards. Looking pretty interesting. Just have to wait for the next GFS updates and see what sort of position we are in then. Woo!
  20. Meto have finally issued warnings. Quite widely! Even along NW coastlines. Prospects looking very good!
