    I suspect it might have something to do with stronger winds across the South, blowing showers through quicker than across the North, and a lack of convergence zones?

    Newcastle Under Lyme- very light snow currently. Had a dusting over the last 45mins or so. Current temp: -0.1c dp: -0.5c Milder air mixing in behind with sleet/rain below 100m by the looks of things on radar.
