  1. I don't think it will be as bad as Christmas though. It is enough to bring a few branches down. We still pretty much in the cold air mass on Sat.
  2. I also heard a boy aged 16 committed suicide from a footbridge over the M6 motorway at Leyland near I live. RIP. It was a terrible thing to do. It happened on Saturday night. Weatherwise it is still cloudy here. I thought it was gonna clear for a night at first.
  3. I prefer the last Thursday night's weather anyday over this damp squid. So far I rate this winter 3/10 so far. Worse since 2007-2008.
  4. Nothing whatsoever here. If its does snow last night it would'nt stick because of wet surfaces. It did get snow last night but I blame the wet ground.
  5. I just had a wintry shower here a few minutes ago and it only last for a few minutes though.
  6. Heavy hail here now and it is covering the ground white rapidly now. Just stopped now.
  7. the temps don't have too be low for it to snow, look at last year for example it was 4C and it was snowing heavily. It only need dew point to drop low enough to snow. It is 6C right now and who knows what it will bring tonight.
  8. YELLOW WARNING of ICE A colder, westerly, air stream will follow Sunday's frontal band bringing heavy wintry showers and wet surfaces to many areas during Sunday evening and night. Clear skies between showers are expected to allow temperatures to fall to or just below freezing at times resulting in a risk of icy stretches forming on untreated surfaces. Some areas of the United Kingdom will also see a covering of snow. Snow amounts will generally be small, mostly accumulating on vegetation, however more persistent and heavy snow is expected over the higher ground of western and central Highland and the southern Grampians. See separate warning for snow. The public should be aware of the potential for some disruption to travel. Snow warning for us. We may see a dusting in places here but not much.
  9. The iphone weather app put me on for sleet on friday. minus 1 on Thurs night. Fingers crossed to be change for better.
  10. No surprises there. So much downgrades this winter, It doesn't hurt my feelings one bit.
  11. Hail here now. Edit: Its hailed here for a few seconds then it stopped. grrr! lol.
  12. Only see anything wintry today that Winter Hill is snowcapped this morning. That means snow isn't too far away now.
  13. That is a example how unexpected weather could bring. Surprise snow + Rush hour = Whole town goes lock down.
  14. It could've been heavy hail. Its hard to know because its dark. My friend who lives in Coppull had snow lying on the pavement. Its about roughly an cm of it.
  15. Only if the cold uppers were lower no warm fronts tomorrow then we would've see the repeat of Dec 2010.
  16. We may get lucky this time now. HEAVY SNOW HERE NOW!!! Sadly it didn't stick. I'm guessing the west pennine moors will have a first good pasting of the season.
  17. Heres the forecast for the weekend's rainstorms and the beginning of the cold snap/spell: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/25862953
  18. According to Jay Wynne's bbc forecast just now he says ''its gonna turn colder early next week''. He does not said mid-week next week. I confused now.
  19. According to Jay Wynne's bbc forecast just now he says ''its gonna turn colder early next week''. He does not said mid-week next week. I confused now.
  20. I meant was ice were in the raindrops and I pretty sure the snowline wouldn't be too far up, probably just above Winter Hill's height. I only just judging by it.
  21. Is it me or is the rain trying to sleet here? There is bits of white in the rain. Its only 5C here too.
