It be nice to have a news coverage on the storm. The next storm is gonna be major. This time I want it full coverage no more interruptions this time, unlike last time when Mandela just sadly died. There is no headlines for it in Sky/BBC News so far. There is apparantly a twister warning for tonight: A TORRO TORNADO WATCH has been issued at 10:10GMT on Saturday 21st December 2013 Valid from/until: 10:10 - 22:00GMT on Saturday 21st December 2013 for the following regions Parts of (see map) TORNADO WATCH S Eire Wales IoM Much of England THREATS Tornadoes; wind gusts to 65mph; hail 10-15mm diamter; CG lightning DISCUSSION An unstable west-southwestely flow exists across much of the area now, although the south-eastern portion is currently being influeced by a waving frontal system. This feature will move away to the north-east early this afternoon. Following on, a marked trough/comma cloud feature will move in from the west, and appears to be the prime focus for any severe weather. Backed winds ahead of this second featured will enhance low-level vorticity/shear, whilst deep lifting will support an area of convection/thunderstorms. Deep layer shear will mean organised storms are possible, perhaps including supercells, although a cluster of activity, perhaps with a quasi-linear element, will be more likely. The current convective activity close to NW England should move away soon, with the trough then following through later morning and this afternoon/early evening. The main threat will be strong wind gusts, but a few tornadoes are possible too, especially close to the top end of the trough, where surface flow will be most backed. This looks to be from S Eire through Wales and into N England. However, the risk area has been extended south too, as some models depict convection further south. Looks like Christmas Eve is going to be interesting. The 6z is showing higher chance and longer timing of snow than on the 0z. 6z is a upgrade. Temps is showing 2 - 5C at best.

Its not all bad. it is showing North-westerly winds on the 28th: It may bring wintry showers on that day, especially northwestern areas. Widespread gales too.

Yesterday the bbc weather were forecasted hail here this afternoon. I hope it will hail, I think the today's squall line will produce it this evening. I could be wrong.

There is a chance of snow on Christmas Eve: Ireland is getting a pasting from it. It be a White Christmas for the Irish.

I read an article on the daily mirror and it says '' Heavy rain in the NW could fall as snow on Christmas Day''. they also slash some odds for London from 11/1 to 7/1. There is a stormy spell whole of Monday right the way to Christmas Eve morning. YELLOW WARNING for WIND for SCOTLAND, NORTHERN IRELAND, WESTERN ENGLAND, SOUTH AND WEST WALES, SOUTHWEST and SOUTHERN ENGLAND. A very deep area of low pressure will bring very strong winds and heavy rain to much of the UK from Monday morning, through to late Tuesday morning. There is the potential for widespread gales with gusts of 70 mph for much of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, southern and northwest England. Gusts of 80-90 mph are possible, with the greatest likelihood of these values across west Scotland. The public should be aware of the potential for significant disruption to travel due to the very strong winds and also the risk of some flooding issues thanks to the heavy rain. Some very interesting days ahead. The timing of the storm is long.

It rained before and its graupling/hail here now!! I am right all along. Just had 2 showers so far and more to come. Sorry for disagree with you CS, the sea effect snow/ppn is a prove of it.

I think it will be wintry showers tonight and it is caused by cold winds coming over the warm sea. It is called Sea Effect Snow. Were still dominated under a low pressure system. I won't be surprise if we see some showers coming out of this. Update: Just had a cold rain shower here now.

We should expect alot of wintry showers this evening before it fades away later overnight. Its ain't over just yet for today's wintry/wet weather.

I did my best to show widespread snow after Christmas. It is in deep FI. It be a begger's hope for coldies unless 12z show something better.

Just got back from Rivington Pike. When I was on top it was very windy, about 50mph up there. I was nearly pushed away up there. it is getting very lively outside now here.

I watched the BBC weather and looks to me it is going to be a very wet and squally evening, maybe we could see some thunder with it. Atleast it be a interesting evening and tomorrow weatherwise.

Good Evening folks. Finally the rain from last night had stopped here. I'm pretty sure 25-40 mm have being fallen here. The ground here is very saturated and any future rain will cause floods or standing water. Good job I live on top of a valley. Looking pretty good if you looking for a white christmas. Lets hope it verifies, its been 3 years since we last had it in 2010.

The models have downgraded the Thursday's storm this morning. How many times we had downgrades? alot. At this rate this Winter is going to be a Winter Of Downgrades. bruah!! Which is going to be a WINTER. Lets hope it won't happen. But still a possibility sadly.
