  1. Like I say couple of weeks ago slow moving weather systems are the best if it comes to snow.
  2. I just noticed last few frames on the rain radar the ppn have turned (green) wintry in the Irish Sea/St George's channel.
  3. According to Heart FM there is a major incident have been declared across Greater Manchester involving Storm Christoph.
  4. Bad news. Met Office have just issued a Amber weather warning for rain for parts of our region.
  5. I think weather systems that have tendency to dump big amounts of snow/rain deserves to be named. Just like systems producing very strong winds. It both could bring disruption and loss of life.
  6. Looks like thats it for this cold spell. The cold spell is arn't that bad just had a few days with snowfalling, mostly light. I rate this 6/10. I suppose this is a good start to the new year!!
  7. Its getting darker now and the temperatures should be dropping to allow the snow to stick.
  8. If this keeps up by nightfall it will stick no problem.
  9. The system seems to me its coming to life and the gaps is filled in according to radar.
  10. The winds are picking up and its sleeting. (Ice pellets)
  11. Only a dusting of snow here, less than last Saturday's snow. When I went to shop the wind is freezing!! I guessing about -4 windchill.
  12. The sun is going down and little/no thaw here as well. Tonight's goin to be a cold one.
  13. I don't think today's snow will melt pretty fast. I think its close enough to be an Ice Day. Even the Met Offices show top temp of 0C here.
  14. According to radar it will snow quite a while. Slow/stall systems are the best!!
  15. It is sticking all over the place!! Biggest flakes so far this year!!
  16. I think were getting the bulk of this system. Fingers crossed it delivers something worthwhile.
  17. I'm no expert. But sometimes snow is difficult to forecast.
