  1. Latest on snow on tuesday night GFS and a lesser extent ICON keeping up the signal for Cornwall and English Channel coasts. Both though have trended more south though. As yet the other models not interested.
  2. Yep Oxford Cheltenham Swindon looking good today. Good luck all Southern Dorset looking good too this morning
  3. What a day. Really beautiful sunrise walk on the moor Some heavy snow for about 20 minutes either side rain sleet and Hail. Drove the kids to get the tree in the snow then detoured up to Sharpitor (380 m/asl) to have a quick play in the snow. Dried up and now rain showers. Looks like could be some opportunities mid week for more snow Max 5c now 0.9c
  4. Light snow here now. Not settling and not much but good to see. Radar suggests snowing down in Plymouth too
  5. Overnight low of -2.9 just above freezing now at 0.6c Good cold spell is this in terms of temperatures don't think we'll be getting any snow though!
  6. 12 hours of snow in parts of Devon and Cornwall on this run on Friday. Potential of surprises still alive before next week
  7. Ignoring the issues of next week to slide or to slide best look at the here and now to see if there is any chance to seeing any white stuff in the next 5 days. The answer not alot. But skimming through the models there might be interest in Devon and Cornwall Thursday night as a batch of ppn heads down the West Coast of UK. Pick of the bunch the Aperge model. But in all honesty nothing to get excited about.
  8. Another pleasant day with a max of 7.1c. Looks like its clouding up obviously the front from the north is here
  9. Cold cloudy while working in Plymouth today with some bright spells up on the southern slopes of the moor. At home the max today was 6.2c. Pretty much bang on what was predicted. Later in the week the temperature predictions some what vary. MO predicting it will drop to -5 in my locale with the BBC (ECM) suggesting a mere -1c. Interesting to see which way it goes!
  10. Morning my understanding is that the BBC weather now uses the ECM model rather than the met office.
  11. Ah yes it does indeed became rather crowded. I tend to skip most and keep alook out for posters who have at least have some half decent Knowledge which is about a dozen at tops
  12. Not sure I made it all on here last winter as the weather was a snooze fest with next to no snow at all last year here locally. Don't worry my legs will be worrying the good folk and ponies of the moor by mid January
  13. Braced here on Dartmoor for the cold air and winds to dig in at the weekend. Walking the dog over the tors at 8am with it feeling below freezing and stiff breeze is going to be a shock. I actually cut the grass this year on November 13th in my shorts and t-shirt!
