  1. Southern Dartmoor . Couple of flakes in the wind I should think but would be nice to see. Yes the whole debate on short term ppn charts is certainly put on its head with GFS leading the pack! Just to add Aperge and Arome agree with GFS in that nothing doing for southern coastal areas its all in the channel. The exception being the far south west such as truro penzance and the lizard but this looks like being wet rather than white.
  2. Amazing to get snow like that in wareham @Mapantz how did the purbeck hills do? Local news here Princetown had some falls this morning (standard ) Lower down the hill just rain. Snow line again around 350 metres. Looking ahead still fair bit of snow interest Tuesday night / Wednesday morning - admittedly in form of showers rather than a system as such but if we get in one of the coastal streamers that set up on the north cornwall and devon coast you never know. Something to keep the interest alive this week and also a week of below average temperatures could really supress the monthly average figures for here locally. Enjoy your day folks Dartmoor Princetown Live Webcam WWW.CAMSECURE.CO.UK Live streaming webcam from Princetown in Dartmoor Devon UK. This live webcam shows views from Princetown towards the moors and the infamous Dartmoor Prison can be seen in the distance too.
  3. Well that was the night that was. After a dreary day of 3c and drizzle at about 9pm suddenly the snow started to fall. More sleet at first and then to proper snow, probably lasted about 4 hours but the intensity was not high, the flakes not huge so the net result 1-2cm depth. Beggers can't be choosers though. Close run thing as only 3 miles away and a couple hundred foot less height the snow line stopped. The kids got a quick sledge in before school which handily opened late at 10. Weather today will be close to an ice day and with a hard frost tonight the roads will be like an ice rink. The end now in sight for this cold spell. Sunday looks a rain fest for the far south west so it will be back to old humdrum but it was good while it lasted.
  4. Starting to settle not huge convective style flakes. Be interesting to see how long the conveyor belt of moisture lasts for. Do see some brighter echoes on the radar off lands end I wonder if they will hold form or fizzle out
  5. Looking like dartmoor is draining all the energy from the front denying those to the east of the moor any of the action.
  6. And now heavy snow here in dousland. Big temperature drop. Really pleased for you i know how hard it is for snow in your neck of the woods
  7. Lots or clear snow in with the falling snow so nothing really settling. DP below 0c and air temp 0.9c. Looking at the radar we are in a splodge of green should think we have an hour before intensity (of what there is) slackens. At this point met office app is currently the most accurate for here. No sledging tomorrow but least we got some falling.
  8. Finally. With some lamp post viewing there is snow now falling here. On the radar it took for us to be under the heavy echoes to get some flakes falling.
  9. Certainly more energy in the fronts coming in on Sunday and the orientation (at the moment) is such it will rip through the block.
  10. Indeed the UKV i think also feeds into the met office app. Its had this has the weather all day but the reality is very different
