  1. Marvellous! What a season we're having I'd much prefer to stay in the championship! I reside on Dartmoor these days but the local pub ran a mini bus up to st marys for the argyle game, I was on the bus stood in the home end they went in the away end - the bus was very quiet going back
  2. Think it was valentines day the 94 one. Being a saints fan, I'm sure saints played that night on sky with the snow falling (could of been against liverpool)
  3. True, depends on the wind direction i guess, if it maintains an easterly you should be alright but as you know its such a fine line to get the orientation of a channel low just right for the coast. I grew up over in purbeck and i remember we had a great fall in 1994. Everything was perfect. I think it was the following year or 96 a similar set up to start with had us more snow but the veered quickly to a southerly and it was all over!
  4. While some well look to the following weekend for what happens next I'm still paying attention to the channel low for mid week, still very much in the balance UKMO det considers the low will hit northern France and miss the south entirely. Quick look at mogreps suggests its not clear cut. Half the 850's go above freezing in plymouth suggesting the low will push further north. A few go above in Brighton. Again look at Cardiff a couple of runs head above 0 with say 40% rising from -10's towards but not above 0. Same for Birmingham. Still a chance the south will get the clear see through typesnow with the purple patch along the M4. As such those discounting the channel low may yet be surprised as its not a done deal by any means.
  5. Indeed. If you like snow espcially in Devon and Cornwall then you'll really want the latest ECM run to happen. Sadly it won't be exactly like this but shows the snow chances are still there for our region. You'd expect the snow line to get up toward the M4 with even the coasts initially getting in on the action.
  6. Its all finally caught up with them plus the end is in sight. Not sure if we'll catch any snow in our region. I guess we may know more by Sunday. If the flow is N NW Cornwall north and west Devon may catch some wintery showers but frontal stuff for our region still in debate.
  7. For some in the far south I think we possibily could of had our coldest day and night. Tuesday this week we had 850's around -10 and top temps of 1c, yes a slight warm up at the weekend (5c) and then dropping back to 3c next week. I'd suggest for some this would be up to a 10 or 11 cold snap or spell
  8. Micro or macro the current scores for snow in our region next week is 2-2. ECM / GFS vs UKMO / GEM. No doubt it will change approx 438 times before its here
  9. Woof! Well I have predicted that special type of snow symbol for next week the one you can see through...........anyone want to buy a half priced sledge?
  10. Well they are not the biggest fans of GFS - yes they look at all modules but they rarely get a mention on their broadcasts
  11. overnight low of -1c. Currently -0.4C. Drama here the wood shed is empty and we're way down the list on the logsman order!
  12. Absolutely so many ifs and buts!!! The whole situation is so complex who'd be a weather forcaster...........well half of those on NW mad thread think they are!!!!
