  1. Thunder & lightning being reported by a friend on Twitter who lives in Cornwall.
  2. At this point now I'd just settle for some distant sheet lightening when it goes dark in a couple of hours! I just want to see something!
  3. I did fairly well here last winter had 3 or 4 decent falls including the one which closed junction 26-27 north & south bound of the M6 on a Friday night, had 14 inches of level snow by midnight that night.
  4. Well it must have been for a reason, the people who issue these warnings supposedly know their stuff.
  5. If they issue an amber anywhere else in the country its a sure thing, when they issue one here you disbelieve until you actually see it with your own eyes.
  6. I share your frustration I really do, this is exactly the reason I hate summer we never get the storms in our neck of the woods. Roll on Autumn & Winter at least we get our fair share of snowfall.
  7. Another disappointing day here, got briefly excited when the amber warning was issued this afternoon but should have known better nothing ever goes to plan in this part of the country!
  8. All the storms are forming & passing through exactly the same places as yesterday. Always the same when it comes to the North West of England. I was surprised to see an amber warning but not surprised that everything is forming & passing over the other side of the Pennines.
  9. Probably a good call. Surely at least you must see some flashes to your south within an hour or so even if it doesn't reach me.
  10. What about that pushing through east Wales at the moment? It could possibly trigger something north of there as it progresses further north?
  11. Do you think this is a realistic possibility? I sure hope your right.
  12. Wednesday night in to the early hours of Thursday morning was the windiest spell of weather I've experienced in a long time. I was staying in a caravan on top of a hill in Llangollen & some of the gusts were easily exceeding 80 mph. I didn't get much sleep as the caravan was rocking so violently, if the caravan hadn't been kept down by stakes driven 3 foot into the ground it would have been blown over due to the sheer power of the winds. Glad to be back home today & its calm with bright sunshine!
  13. There is no intensity though, just well spread out flakes. The radar I'm using however now does look an unbroken spell of snow for the rest of the night, shame it couldn't be a tad heavier.
  14. Can't amount to much surely? Impressed though, nice flakes, a bit more intensity would give a dusting.
  15. Dying out though as it crosses over, if the winds were stronger maybe some would get over.
  16. A few small flakes visable here now by looking at the lamp post.
