Well I was out in that so called "raging northerly" all night last night and to call this a cold spell is beyond me..... It didn't even feel cold, it had a chill to it but that was it and I've been out in a lot colder conditions, I've even felt colder in westerly winds. I experienced all sorts on the way to st David's, rain hail sleet and snow but more sleet than anything and a raging northerly would b all snow not mixed.

To many rampers again saying it was going to b a fantastic cold spell and snowmaggedon!!!!!! I just read wot the met office have to say and also Ian fergusson, and when they ramp that's when u know your in for a cold spell. Until then keep your feet firmly on the ground

Weather warnings still out at the mo for sat into sun for snow so still a chance but it hasn't been updated since yesterday.

I don't know y everyone is so dissapointed, it's average January weather and its not going to b a 2010 repeat like some have been saying on the Mod thread. The only people u should b listening to is the met office cos as far as I can c they have had it spot on the last 2 winters. If they say we're in for a good chance of snow then we should all get excited.

Keeping my feet firmly on the ground with this cos yet again it looks like it's been blown out of proportion! Average JANUARY weather coming up with a chance of rain sleet or snow depending where u live...... Rain or sleet for me

Like the last cool snap I'm not expecting much of a cold spell and snow until it says 24hrs b4!!!! There WILL b changes from now till then and usually upgrades then followed by downgrades so no waxing the sledge for me yet lol

This time next week expect Welsh forum to explode into action with blizzard conditions in heavy squally snow showers in a Strong N westerly flow
You said that about the last cold snap and look what happened!!! A normal January spell of weather, I'll give u the benefit of the doubt on the last 1 because I think you jinxed it. So if it is looking likely please use reverse phycology and say its looking like rain, rain and more rain lol.

I think I can say this cold snap (average January weather) is over for me but I did c a lot of snow this morning even tho it didn't stick!! So im a bit happier lol. But what I have learned over the years is we usually have snow showers/sleet events about a week or 2 weeks b4 we have a proper cold spell. E.g Dec 10 and January 12 we had snow showers etc before the real cold hit us. So my fingers are crossed for a proper cold spell to hit us soon. This is just what I've noticed and not based on any science so please don't blame me if we don't have 1 lol

Something definitely wrong with the netweather radar, its been saying snow here for the last 30mins but it definitely isn't

Well to me this just feels like an average spell of January weather, the way people were going on in the Mod thread about the next few days were as if it was going to b a very cold week!!! I don't call highs of 7c very cold in January and a night time temperature of 2c cold either. The only thing I will say is cold, is the rain lol

experienced 6-8c on 90% of the days which is above the 4.6c average for January. The coldest temperature I've seen is -5.6 this winter which isn't uncommon if u get a few clear nights which is something else we haven't had.
