  1. Esbjerg, Denmark calling.........the storm has got worse as the day has progressed, quite a few bridges have been closed (quite major in Denmark as the country is effectively split into 3 parts with water/bridges connecting them) so traveling is not good at the moment. We have had horizontal rain and also quite an intense hail storm - things looked white for a while but with the rain and wind it soon melted. It is actually quite difficult to stand on the quay side and just about all the heavy equipment has been removed or placed into the sheds/buildings where they can fit - how ever wind turbine parts are too big so they have moved them away from the quay side but it is expected to be flooding later. Some of the buildings have had the windows blown in which is quite astonishing taking into consideration that they are double glazed, the office I’m in looks over the port and our windows are really flexing in the wind – quite unnerving. The guys offshore on the rigs are having a bit of a time at the moment - the rigs are moving around quite a bit and the waves quite high. All in all I have been in quite a few storms around the world and have to admit that the gusts and intensity of this storm is quite surprising. Right signing off for now as got to make my way back to the hotel and pack ready for my flight home tomorrow – hopefully that will be okay.
  2. Good morning from Esbjerg in Denmark, Overcast with high winds, the Danes are braced for this storm to peak this afternoon, the port has been closed to shipping and all flghts to/from the offshore oil rigs are suspended. It is forcast for snow to start tonight leading into tomorrow - hope it does not get too bad regarding the snow as Im on the flight back to London City Airport tomorrow morning. As requested earlier in the thread I will post some pictures when/if the weather gets interesting. Have a good day.
  3. Hi all, been lurking around in the back ground but thought I would say hello. I live in Crawley, W/Sussex but commute every week to Esbjerg in Denmark, sometimes I get lucky and have two different weather climates and the end of this week might be one of those, this part of Denmark has severe storm warnings in place for Thursday and snow warnings for Friday Saturday - just seen out of the window my first slight snow flurry - so a little earlier albeit very very small/light
  4. Now that is dedication to do some lamp post watching via FaceTime in Madrid  Wife now refuses to hold phone at window so plan 'b' on to highways agency traffic cams http://www.trafficengland.com/map.aspx?long0=-99.84658118935386&lat0=3109.3947687595796&long1=87.84378918101663&lat1=3028.597650115512
  5. Crawley moderate snow, settling on cars and on existing snow from last week end. Been watching via wifes iPhone/face time as I'm in Madrid at the moment - she is getting fed up with holding her phone by the window so that can see it 'live'! Mixed feelings as I want it to keep snowing but am flying back into Gatwick tomorrow!
