  1. How can the precipiation be forcast to be with us and be heaviest between 6 am and 12pm when the bands look to clear our are in a couple of hours tops?? if anyone has an answer please let me know
  2. does heavy precipiation lead to further cooling thereby increasing chance of rain to snow??
  3. dew at -1 and air temp -1 at 70m above sea level the snow event on friday began with less favourable variables, still feel it could be snow to rain here nae suggests you guys out west could be favoured sooo marginal...
  4. dew point and air temp dropping nice now hope this bodes well for later, that precipitation looks like it will hit our area much earlier than predicted

  7. Winds from SW at the momemnt look to be coming fromm SE when front moves in early in the morning I think we may hopefully get the lower dew points required
  8. Sleet in Bridgend need to get the dewpoints down a little I fear this does not bode well for coastal areas later when humidity rizes with oncomming fromts 2 gegrees here with dewpoint at 0.5 giving wet sleet
  9. I still think the precipitation coming up the channel will clip some of south wales this morning

  11. Can anyone explain why the snow heading towards south wales up the bristol channel will not actually get here on its current track I make it hitting Swansea at 6 in the morning, nobody seems to be commenting, I admit I am no expert but the track looks pretty clear to me
  12. That snow coming up the bristol channel really does look to have south Wales name on in for the morning
  13. I would worry too much yet as you know over the last few years they almost always get corrected westwards
  14. Strange because it seems to be beefing up all the way worth keeping an eye on I think but I guess the easterly wind will keep it away from us
  15. Anyone notice the bands of precipitation heading towards the south coast of wales from the tip of cornwall what do you thing the chances of that arriving here in the early hours??

  17. Surface temps on Monday looking very favourable if the front clips the south it will be snow Ties in well with latest NAE
  18. Take a look at the dew points over the atalantic on Monday you certainly dont see that very often even in severe winters
  19. Interestingly the GFS which has been the warmest model of late keeps snow events comming for south wales right through to nexy saturday, lets hope its the trend setter
  20. I know exactly what you mean and it was brought home to me when I was walking the dog just know and heard that fantastic sound of kids dragging a sledge over snow cover that has now frozen over, took me right to 82 when I was a lad with my own sledge wishing it would carry on for months
  21. Ties in very acurately with the 12z NAE which goes for light snow virtually non stop for another 24 hours accross the whole of the region
  22. Latest 12z NAE still predicts light snow for virtually all of south wales for next 24 hours
  23. Temp plummeting now in bridgend -1 degree air temp -1 degree dewpoint measured 5.5 inches level snow and hopefully pick up a few of those beefy showers heading off the channel and to cap it all work called a snowday
