  1. Just woke up after a kip brand new weather station for Chrismas in Bridgend 70m above sea level temp now 1 degree dew just hit 0 starting to see proper snow now
  2. Just got back from walking the dog feels positively warm outside compared to the last few evenings in Bridgend. Its amazing to think in a few hours snow should be falling. I am confident that the met could not issue a red warning only for the majority to get sleet and rain but still theirs that lingering feeling of doubt caused by the feel of the weather on your skin!!!
  3. Thanks for that temp dropping nicely now from 5 to 4 in 30 minutes
  4. Similar here 5 degrees and getting warmer dew points at -2 though, I really want snow but for some reason it just does not feel like its going to snow outside. Please someone tell my why I am wrong!!!
  5. Can someone explain how in Bridgend we have light rain from sleet earlier, a dew point of 1 degree and temp of 3 degrees, what in the current setup will bring the variables in favour for snow later when the main fronts arrive, surely as they are atlantic fronts they will bring in warmer air and force dew points and surface temps up??
  6. I never realised that what we are seeing now is actually the begining of the event!! we have continuous precipitation right the way through , progressively getting heavier http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfs/accumulation-precipitations/3h.htm
  7. If you look at the rainfall radar now its interesting that even the current front is turning to snow as it travels 40 to 50 miles inland from the western coast also intersting that those bands currently on the radar are intensifying and pushing into west wales. Im hoping for a bitter night to really get surface temps down when the major bands approach Friday and as others have said the these battlegrounds commonly get pushed south and west lets just hope they dont shoft too far are it will all end up in France!!!
  8. Bridgend council have had advance warning of a potential 24-36 hours of snow from 0500 hours Friday (just on local radio)
  9. Sorry just joined location (Bridgend) now on profile
  10. raining really hard now but some sleet in the mix probably due to the cooling associated with increased intensity air temp has dropped to 1 degree dew point still bang on 0 would expect snow with these parameters
  11. Hope you get lucky, I hear maesteg has sleet at the moment but a bit higher up the valley
  12. Rain in Bridgend very heavy dew point at 0 temp 2 degrees not even a hint of sleet just cold heavy rain:(
  13. Something strange happening here I am directly (bridgend) under the thickest band of precipitation and still nothing falls from the sky my weather station is recording the dew point actually dropping at -3 really weird
  14. Interesting looks like they anticipate the boundry between Neath and Swansea which is not on the list
  15. 850 temperatures are forcast to drop rapidly from this evening with dewpoints below zero for most of south wales = snow from about midnight onwards, may start as rain initially though!!
