Yes I was just looking at the radar thinking the same, but then looking closer it hasn't really arrived here in Bristol (its dry in Mangotsfield) but looks really heavy in your direction mind you. -

Model Output Discussion 18z 28/07/13

"The Gfs 06z shows some green shoots of recovery towards mid month with the azores/atlantic anticyclone attempting to bring back a more settled pattern" So is that both GFS and ECM (if I remember an earlier post) showing a similar trend? -
Knowing the Met have much more information than is released into the public domains I was rather dismayed at Ian Fergusson's comment right at the end of last nights broadcast about using your fan on Thursday and then returning it, suggested that any warnm or even hot settled weather in the forseeable is not going to happen. Thinking they probably have quite reliable trend analysis going out some weeks into the future. I hope I got the wrong end of the stick from that comment. Also what interested me was a comment on twitter yesterday from another broadcaster suggesting over the next few days a significant Sahara dust cloud was going to move west across the atlantic towards the Carribean and the impact on the hurricane season. Sort of suggested it would suppress it but then I would have thought dust in the air would give moisture something to 'cling onto'. I wish I had more knoweldge at times! lol, at least the sunsets will be spectacular. F

Yellow fork of lightning, very high up and an almost immediate rumble but way off to my east. -

According to twitter there was a lightning strike in Durrington, (Wilts) and house on fire. It happened to some friends of mine last year, luckily they were away at the time. Lets hope its a similar situation with this strike -

I can see something brewing to my north. But here its just like last night with a few light clouds reflecting in the setting sun. -
Yes we had thunder bugs yesterday. I'll check it again this evening when I get home - at the moment here in Bradley Stoke its overcast. Surely it can't be long before it burns off. PS. Ampney Crucis - drove through there a few weeks back, sounds like a place out of a Harry Potter book.

Can't get my head around these Humidity readings, mine for example showed 43% yesterday (as did my parents one), this morning it showed 50%, yet yours is 90% which is far more how I expected it to read. Is it that much different between indoors and outdoors at this time of year? Ive got to be misunderstanding what my weather station is telling me.

Just popped out to BnQ, what a fantastic day. A bit on the nippy side but otherwise great. The sort of day I like a day out walking rather than stuck in the office. F -
