  1. I knew this forum was snow biased, but I can't get my head around the despondency surrounding what may well amount to beautiful winter weather over the next week or so, with crisp days and cold frosty nights. Sounds great to me, I just hope the cloud isn't too intrusive. Anyway, that was a mini moan about the moaning. P.S - February isn't spring, and the sun really isn't all that strong yet.
  2. It's a cold one tonight. Half decent chance of cracking -10C somewhere in England, I reckon.
  3. Still another 9 hours before sunrise...how low will it go?
  4. Manchester Airport reporting -4C. Looks like my neck of the woods is amongst the coldest in the country tonight... http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/Pages/Weather-Obs.aspx
  5. All these impressive historic March/April accumulations, yet we've already got people worried about the "strong" February sun!
  6. Calm and frosty, around -1C. I love calm, clear and cold nights. If high pressure wants to hang over us for a while, and no cloud is trapped in, You won't find me complaining!I meant to ask: Gary, can you please pop your location in your profile so we know where your reports are coming from? Thanks!
  7. That's why I think a large downward correction is potentially on the cards. Quite a difference between the current CET and you not too far outside the zone.
  8. If our winters were 3/4/5C colder, yet our prevailing winds still came from the same direction, we would likely be a very snowy country, maybe akin to Hokkaido in Japan. That's why the Highlands got pasted last winter yet it was too mild pretty much everywhere else. We've got the moisture on lockdown, but are let down by the temperatures.
  9. Nah, that's just extreme. I reckon even the polar bears won't fancy being out in that!
  10. Horrendous conditions in Arviat, Nunavut, Canada; -35C, Heavy snow, 30mph winds and a windchill around -55C! That really is brutal.
  11. Yep. It's also the only place in the world where -5C actually is "too cold to snow". The worst of both worlds!
  12. Reckon we could see a sizeable downward adjustment. What's the "record", anyone know?
  13. North West fact file: Glossop - Main exports: snow. Wirral - Main imports: snow. Anyway, just realised I've been on Netweather pretty much all day, time to get my head down and give my eyes a rest. Good luck to everyone! Peace.
  14. It's the thought that counts! Anyway, forget Glossop, Stockport has seen more snow than Manhattan ever did!
  15. Glossop represent!! Show those soft New Englanders what snow is!
  16. "Is it snowing in Stockport?" What a stupid question! Of course it is!
  17. Don't think I've ever seen snow "bounce" off the window before. When will I wake up?
