Only if all this activity was further south..
When is winter coming? Maybe i have more chance of snow than storms?
If the GFS is to be believed, after today this thread will be very quiet for sometime. :-(
-
Anyone got any ideas why nothing happened(has) North of Lincoln today with all that Cape, long periods of sun and moisture around. Got a Dew point of 17 earlier.
-
Is it your age??????
HAHA!
I suppose there is still time although nothing is or has been showing on Radar to my West all day. Still got a few hours to go but the suns energy is getting weaker as the day goes on.
There is still hope. If I dont get anything im sure i will before the summers out.
For people getting storms hope you're enjoying them.
-
Is today finished at 16.10hrs then??!!!!!!!
No but it just doesnt feel right. I no longer have that 'feeling' if you know what I mean.
-
Nothing appears to be happening here today, What a let down!
-
Still slightly confident ill see something here, although no showers are initiating out to the west.
-
Yep, going back to sleep in the NSC for another 7 years. Another non-event....
Its only 2pm
-
Wish it was just a little further North. Maybe we'll get something up here later.
-
Lincolnshire getting another storm, are the showers moving W? or NNW? I cant decide. Anyway I doubt that storm will effect this area.
-
Im surprised that PPN over Birmingham isnt showing any sferics.
-
If I had any money to put on today, it would go into the triangle formed by Sheffield, Grimsby and Grantham......
I hope you're right
-
So then, shall we have a sweepstake to see when the first storm pops up in Lincolnshire?
It wont be Grimsby its the Southern Linc folk that hog it all! lol
-
gut feeling tells me things are'nt right for this area...hope i,m wrong though.
I was just thinking the same thing, its really windy here and the wind feels cool.
-
same here matty, fingers crossed, as been very storm starved in this area this year!
Yeah I know how you feel. Havent had a decent storm for ages.
-
Suns out here, some signs of convection. Things looking ok.
-
Interesting I watched Ian's forecast late this evening and he did say rainfall would now likely be heavier than the graphics show, with possible thundery downpours in the morning before it starts clearing away to the East.
We shall see soon enough anyway on how it pans out! Even if it doesn't...it has to be our turn eventually
MO must have the instability pushed more South than GFS. I for one hope GFS is right as my BBC local forecast shows hardly anything.
-
I'm wondering what's caused a line of sharp showers to develop from Exeter to Salisbury and on towards the SW London area.
We're under a broad warm sector with SW winds so there shouldn't be any convection from converging winds?
Some Cape about plus slight convergence?
-
Some slight amounts of MLcape around overnight according to NMM. Hopefully Ill get something tomorrow, wind shear looks ok best cape for this area is between 12 and 3 so missing out on cape at prime solar heating time, but we shall see.
-
IMBY?
Its now from South of the Humber to about London area and across Western parts of England and Into Wales and Ireland. As appose to Across the Eastern Part of England down to to Essex.
So its moved more South and West.
12Z run is looking alot better :-)
-
Don't like how GFS has pushed the potential alot further south on Wednesday. I hope its just a blip and not a trend as it moves closer. :-( After Wednesday there doesnt seem to be any potential for here for the forseable future.
-
Thursdays potential has all but gone on the latest run of GFS.
-
Got some moderate showers heading in this direction, looking at the charts theres some slight convergence near here but no chance of these turning thundery.
-
Another disappointing day, and latest GFS run has moved all the cape southwards for this evening so thats it then. Its just so hard to get a storm these days.
-
Had a few rumbles here but nothing special. Looks to be dying off round here now :-(

Nice green tint to it. Bet that produced some hefty hail.
