  1. Absolutely semolina here today. Great reading other reports and seeing the occasional picture or video, but we had a really good chance today, and barring something cropping up out of nowhere, we're going to get Lettuce all, which is bitterly disappointing. I knew the really severe stuff wouldn't hit here - that was always an Central and Eastern England event, but still - a regular summer thunderstorm would have been nice!

  2. A couple of heavy showers have suddenly sprung up to the south of here. Looking out from the café at work and it looks pretty dark towards the transporter bridge. I'm having a meeting in the cafe in 10 minutes so should get a great view of any electrical activity (keeps fingers crossed!) The cell leaving Manchester heading up this way is looking good, too :)

Hopefully I'll have something to report in an hour or so, when I'm back on my office computer :D

  3. Well I'm off to do better things than argue about storms :S

If you're still browsing - 10 years does sound a bit unbelievable for others, especially as Kent isn't exactly a bad place to be for storms. Has it just been a combination of bad luck, wrong place wrong time thing? I assume you have actually seen, or at least made an effort to see lightning over the channel. I wonder if you're referencing the fact you haven't had an overhead storm in all that time? Some clarification would be nice, that's all - you can see why it is a surprising statement! :)

  4. Not really mate, just don't like the pee taking out of me in a flippent mannor thats all.

We all know Estofex, and such are much more capable of forecasting storms than TV forecasts. I was more posting along the line of them jinxing it for mentioned thunderstorms.

Kain no-one is taking the pee out of you! Yes you were referencing C5 forecasting storms in your area, but the joke was Supacell has been umming and ahhing over travelling down to the SW, and with Channel 5 forecasting thunderstorms in the west, that would sway Supacell to jump in his car and travel down. We're lightly knocking Channel 5, if anything :)

No wonder so many posts get deleted in here, it's like some are specifically looking to start an argument!

Is what is approaching the south of Ireland the instability we've been waitin for? Or is that the cold front?

    Definitely one to watch :)
