  1. Corr, look at them winds up from the mid sahara maybe into next week! Now that tells me that temps will defo reach 30+, no 2 ways about it!
  2. The Arctic itself won't be getting any colder at all. Its all down to the positioning of that jet stream. Of course there are certain factors that affect the positioning of it, such as what phase the Arctic Oscillation is in, as well as the NAO. If they are in negative phases, then expect some severe cold winters for the UK and Scandinavia, but unusually warm conditions in New Foundland and Greenland. Ive heard that large amounts of snowcover across Europe and Russia can have a big effect on this too, I'm no expert whatsoever on this, but I'm just stating it based upon what I've read and have witnessed over the years I have been alive! I hope you all find this useful, but I might be wrong, who knows!
  3. Some decent looking potential to the West of the Cape Verde Islands at the moment, certainly something to keep an eye on.
  4. I sooo want to go to Florida just to see the storms there. Heard they are really good around the Tampa area. Best storm I've got abroad was a brief, but intense pop up pulse storm in Majorca, which I actually got footage of .
  5. That looks very promising indeed . About time Our noisy neighbours(France,Belgium,Holland) watched us get some decent action and take a step into our world for once!
  6. I'm just glad the jet has decided to bugger off North at the right time, as should it have been September, it would have been too little too late for a decent warm/hot spell. If this had happened mid-july we could have been seeing record breaking heat with this setup !
  7. Knew Peterborough would miss out with this direct Westerly flow! They've tracked right down that A14 corridor once again!
  8. Looks like this weekend and into next week could be a scorcher, deep low to the W and High out to the East drawing up a very hot Southerly flow from Iberia and the Mediterranean. Looking ever more likely that we could see some cracking Spanish plume events towards the breakdown of this too. I'm optimistic about this one more than I ever have been this summer and past couple of years! Hope it materialises and we see some awesome, crazy lightning shows.
  9. Ooshhhhh! My god i Haven't seen a good old hot southerly flow looking like that in ages. I might be right in thinking that I remember one of them happening back in early 2000's late 90's and the temperature nudged near to 35c! With Spain being at over 40 degrees this time of the year, this is a prime opportunity at getting a highest temperature on the table since 2006. This set up could mean some wicked thunderstorms breaking out too.
  10. Storm corner (Lincolnshire) as you all say is looking the most favourable again then!
  11. That was near Peterborough, saw it brew from the start, amazing structure it had! About an hour ago, the wind suddenly gusted up from the west. Indicating that the low's movement further East is evident.
  12. Sounds wicked ! That one over MK/Northaptonshire looking more likely to hit us.
  13. That looks a beast that one, was hoping that would do an inward draw towards Cambs, but looks like progressing more NNE now.
  14. Can see a huge active anvil to my South, my god they aren't dissipating without a fight this evening !
  15. Looks like we could actually be in for a proper thundery breakdown this time, if it materialises at the right time and in the right way. The best things need to come for those who've been waiting, and we all have for a good 6 years now !
  16. Good god, them cells over near King's Lynn are giving off rumbles every 2 seconds, they must be gettin one heck of a storm!
  17. very good storm going on to the East of me, lots of IC lightning couple of CG's too with some pretty loud sounding thunder
  18. Yeah most of the good stuff doesn't even happen until after 2pm ! plenty of time left still
  19. Some very good cirrocumulus and altocumulus passing over me, along with a huge thunderhead visible to the SSW, presuming its the one over in Bedfordshire at the moment. Looks to be heading straight this way. I think I'm going to put my camera on standby folks!
  20. Stuff near Luton area looks like it could become very interesting! And its only 10.30, only just having a bacon sandwich! Wow gettin huge raindrops now! cell seems to be rapidly developing over me as I speak
