More thunder now.
Nice view of cloud formations atm.

Sky is now clouding over. Considerable upscale cloud growth to South and especially West where it looks ominous.
-
Just heard some rumbles, looked around the house west and there's CBs going up all over the place.

Finally had our first summer thunderstorm of the year this morning. Proper anvil and some nice structure with mammatus and towering boiling cumulus. No lightning visible just some rumbles of thunder. Still beggers can't be choosers - a terrible convective weather year around here so far.

GFS has no significant storm risk until 7.00am tomorrow in my part of Essex.

South of Colchester looks interesting...
I noticed some rising accas over that way a short while ago from the garden.

Estofex having (pretty much) none of it.
Looks like they're going with the Kent clipper option.

Check out the 18z GFS for some real storm porn charts. I sincerely hope they maintain the same output, but I always have my doubts at this far out.
But as it stands, Sunday evening and overnight would be an absolute dream. Severe storms would almost certainly ensue most of England, especially the SE. A strong jet streak ramping up during the evening would easily give all nighters on that specific run, and Possible supercells, if not, huge multicellular/MCS type storms. June 24th 1994 chart matches very close to the 18z.
Nice... we can but hope. Meteox lightning forecast showing most of the country getting a shot as the risk area sweeps west to east....

Finally a bit of lightning to look at, albeit north of here. Not a good year for storms in this area so far.

Rumbles of thunder a few minutes ago here. Very dark CB passed partially over with a small gust front. Nice rainbow but no rain here. Feels thundery.

Nice storm just passed right overhead moving east. Loud thunder, CG and CC lightning, hail and gusty winds. Dark low cloud base with plenty of scud. Wasn't really expecting it to reach over here today I have to say. Still going now.

Huge towers going up all the way back south from Cambridge. Couple of big CGs and some loud thunder on arrival back home. Still rumbling intermittently. And yeh, at last some rain!! I suspect locations further north than me may get some decent displays. Sun is now starting to come back out.

Blimey, estofex level 2 for East Anglia

Some very dark clouds appearing. Really hot day today.

Can see a huge anvil over Norfolk covering 90 degs odd with towers going up all along the front of it. Also another smaller one further south. Can't believe there's so little lightning at the moment.

Disappointingly far east now. Sky looks really MCS like but lightning seems to have died a death round this way. Just had some big convective rain drops and it's absolutely sweltering. Essex temperatures and humidity over the last few years have been incredible. Car temperature gauge got up to 40 degs today!
