Some decent funnels clouds around today - https://www.facebook.com/TorroUK/

Two cracks of thunder already from sharp shower to my east. Good start.

Pretty heavy rainfall just passed over here. One lightning strike fairly close by on blitzortung apparently which I didn't see at all, even though I was looking in that direction!
-
Seems to be going ballistic on the Suffolk coast atm. Small shower just came thro here, nothing particularly impressive, but can see some pretty big cumulus out West - may be part of that shower convergence line.

Looking forward o tomorrow A.M as I am right under the SLGT warning zone, although I have to keep my excitement and bay as I've beep let down a lot recently, tomorrow looks somewhat more promising even though there's little CAPE it shows how weird and wonderful our climate can be here in the UK
Ecmwf looks to be showing some decent precipitation for SE uk tomorrow....

Roasting hot day again - what a summer! Some dark clouds starting to appear but MO predicting it wil just turn cloudy round here and stay that way. Wind has picked up as well.

Lots of convection trying to develop here amid blue skies and very temps
Clouds bubbling up and some pretty reasonable towers starting to grow just north of here.

That was the same view I had - quite impressive. Unfortunately its battery ran out before It reached me and only ended up with one flash and some reasonable thunder. Bit disappointing really, and would be interesting to try and determine exactly why it suddenly died, particularly as it was looking pretty good on radar at one stage.

thats quite impressive, maybe you caught a glimpse of the flashes from the strikes that hit just a few hundred metres away from me.. pretty insane thinking about that, hey!
It's amazing how far away u can see these storms. I've seen an electrified CB on the south coast and thunderstorms in the North Sea from here, at night.

Even seen them from down here.

constant thunder from the Herts cell. Still fairly distant though and very slow moving.

Time to jump in the van !!! :-)
What's it doing - difficult to work out exact direction now.

Send it down the A120 to Braintree please :-)
Just seen first flash and distant thunder. You may need to come down the A120 a bit. Mind you Braintree always seems to be a degree or so warmer than here and storms often seem to intensify over it, so u may be lucky.
More thunder. Looking juicey on radar now.

Big anvil looming over from the west with towers behind. Need to work out an intercept or whether it will come right overhead. Decisions.

I think I am at the breeding grounds of these convective towers, some really nice convection.
Definitely things afoot. How much lightning remains to be seen.
Getting dark.
-
Some big cumulus clouds approaching from West, now visible.
-
Few shower cells popping up I Herts now.

Edge of the strong cap just moving away from us now, were moving into the better side.........Fingers crossed.
Yes, looks marginally more hopeful I guess. Just wondering whether to stay put or drive up to Newmarket.

Anyone noticed the hook on that Cambridge storm?! Part of me wishes that I had gone down there earlier, but at least there's signs of development out west!
Can see the anvil from here - pretty impressive, looks like a nuke went off over Cambridge.

Sky has turned white round here. Not sure if it's first tentative signs of convection or a capping inversion to rub salt into the wounds.
