Is there a mysterious dry spot over Hampshire?! This will be a real nailbiter. We are so close to something epic yet could miss out altogether! Think it just comes down to radar watching now.- 714 replies

Got back from this game just over an hour ago and certainly wasn't expecting that! Was horrible cold rain when we arrived in Norwich but it slowly turned more and more to snow and eventually started settling. The drive back along the A11 was treacherous with several cm's on the ground and driving snow in the pitch black, the roads were very slush and slippery. Yet soon after getting out of Norfolk it turned all calm and clear. They will wake up to a nice wintry scene in the morning, hopefully we have our own event in 24-36 hours time!- 714 replies

Fantastic weather here today, started snowing just after 4am and continued for a good 7-8 hours, and it is now snowing again! Feel for anyone who missed out, but looks like there could be more opportunities in the coming days. Shame my day was ruined by the ridiculous goings on at my football club lol. -

Light snow flurries on and off all morning here, also noticed it was trying to settle earlier which bodes well I think. Can't shake that nagging feeling that it will be rain here tomorrow as that is what so often happens, with snow just a few miles inland.- 746 replies

With a scenario like this, I think at 3/4 days out the MO will always say confidence is low as plenty can change at short notice, as we have seen. However the current model output is very encouraging and hopefully confidence will continue to rise over the next 24/48 hours! -

So, a yellow warning for snow for most of the SW, and the MetO site saying light snow for Southampton all day Friday. That will do me for now. -

I have to be up for work at 3.30 in the morning, hoping I might be driving to work in the snow but not holding my breath lol. On radar the PPN looks pretty pathetic.
